    RIOTS in VANCOUVER LAST NIGHT

I'm so disgusted with these morons who now "represent" our city. Vancouver is filled with plenty of wonderful people who are horrified by this. These idiots were just looking for an excuse to riot. The big difference between this and the Olympics was police presence. There wasn't enough of...

    Wonder In Vancouver

My little guy misses the Wonder, so we went down to the beach to watch her pass...

Did anyone shoot craps in Monte Carlo?

It varies. It can be every 1/2 hour or every hour to Monaco. Depends on the time of day. Here's a link to schedules. Please note that it's in French. You can still plug in your dates/times with Villefranche-sur-Mer as the departure point and Monaco (Monte Carlo) or Nice, etc. as the arrival...

Did anyone shoot craps in Monte Carlo?

Why would you want to take a taxi? The train station is right in Villefranche and will take you to Monaco. Much faster and cheaper.

Help me understand justifying price please..

Simple cost of living can also prevent you from spending $10,000 on a cruise. Average cost of a house here in Vancouver is over a million dollars (forget about $300,000 for a house - that won't even buy you a decent 2 bedroom condo), with prices expected to keep rising. Spending $10,000 on a...

Did anone get an email warning from Disney Destinations?

Dis-pleased has a VERY valid point about one's entire email database (with private information) potentially being stolen. Very serious issue and not to be dismissed lightly by calling someone a "troll" because it's their first post.

Did anone get an email warning from Disney Destinations?

Got the same message from Disney too. Strange that my Facebook account was compromised about a week ago also. Wonder if both incidents are related?

    Favorite Servers on the Wonder

Omar (from the Philippines) was our favorite on the Wonder. He was fantastic at keeping the kids entertained and a very kind person too. Wish we could have brought him home!

    Dream Cat 9A cabins

I couldn't imagine not having the privacy curtain! My kids wake up when I turn on the bed side lamp to read. For this reason regular hotel rooms don't work for us (or we book 2 connecting).

Lost and Found Our Child on the Wonder

Don't beat yourself up over it. We've all had things happen with our kids that we wish we could have prevented/done over. It all ended well (yay Disney!) and hopefully your little guy learned a lesson and will stick closer to you when out and about.

Villefranche on Your Own: How Hard Is It?

That's what the Riviera is like in July and August. Not just in Villefranche but everywhere. It wasn't miserable at all. You just need to be realistic with what to expect and go with it. How is it any different than going to Disney World or Disneyland during the main school breaks? I've...

Villefranche on Your Own: How Hard Is It?

If you're looking for quiet anything (including beaches) in the French Riviera during the height of summer (August when the photos were taken) - Good Luck! That includes the beaches in Nice. Look for photos of the beaches in Nice actually taken during the summer and not the winter for an...

Villefranche on Your Own: How Hard Is It?

Some photos of Villefranche. Villefranche beach from our balcony. Note the train behind station behind.: Walk along waterfront from boat tenders. Another view from our balcony. Note where the sailboats are. This is where the boat tenders dock:

Sorry, no umbrellas and chairs for rent at Villefranche's beach.

Villefranche on Your Own: How Hard Is It?

You just walk down a few stairs from the boardwalk to access the beach in Villefranche. Very easy to get to. It was literally a three minute walk from our front door and probably 10 minutes max from the tender. The sand there is granular with some small stones mixed in. Very easy to brush...

Villefranche on Your Own: How Hard Is It?

There is only one beach in Villefranche, it's public and family friendly. ANY beach in France may have topless women on it, including beach clubs. It's just the way of life there. Fewer seem to be going topless though. Beware that the beaches in Nice consist of rocks, not sand.

Villefranche on Your Own: How Hard Is It?

I just spent 3 weeks on the French Riviera, with 2 of the weeks right in Villefranche sur Mer. The train station is a very short walk from where the boat tenders dock and you can access many towns/cities via the train. Unless you need a tour guide to explain things I don't see the need for a...
