Purchasing airfare for baby BEFORE baby born?

I wouldn't buy a seat when the baby is less than six months. Especially if you are nursing. Or are you flying cross-country? Well, even then, I'd trade back and forth with hubby... and hope for that empty seat somewhere to give you more room. We flew cross-country with my DD when she was 6...

    Book Recommendation

This may be too late, but... The Maguire books can be a bit heady and loooooong for a DIS trip. You said you didn't like Harry Potter, but you may like Terry Pratchett... very funny stuff. Try Guards! Guards! and maybe Mort or Eric. If you want a twist on fairy tales in particular, try...

Tips for staying in one room w/small kids?

I can also attest to how easy this is. My son will sleep anywhere, but my daughter is harder to settle down sometimes. We would turn out all the lights and either step out or sometimes even work on our laptops (I made movies each day on our last trip) and she would drift off. Most days, one...

    How is Chef's De France?

I love it there. It is so authentic. I really feel transported when I go there... maybe not Paris... but at least a really good French restaurant in San Fran or somewhere hip and fun. It is a wee bit loud in there, be warned. The acoustics are ... well ... wide open. But I really like it.

Now that you own DVC are your trips more relaxed?

More relaxed here too! And we've added kids into the equation. We do get up for rope drop, mainly because our kids are up anyway, AND we prefer the lower crowds. It also lengthens our day, so we have time to return to the resort, nap, hit the pool, and then enjoy something in the evening...

    smokong at Jellyrolls

I went to WDW a couple of years ago with a pregnant friend. We knew that Florida had banned smoking in all restaurants, so we thought it extended to bars. It doesn't. The bouncer told us (and I didn't verify this info anywhere, so take it for what it's worth) that as long as less than 15% of...

    Child Identification Tags??

I know this sounds bad, but we use pet tags! They hold up really well, and now they come in all kinds of cool shapes. The boys had Spiderman and my DD had a heart. Room for name and number at the very least, and not very expensive. We attached it to her shoe.

    Disney Visa/Room Key ?

Ditto what the recent poster are saying. Use a cc for room charges, and then go the morning of checkout and pay with your rewards card. Any balance will be applied to your cc. And another little tip I learned the "hard" way... I went on a solo trip in Sept 06 and I forgot my Rewards Card...

A (Dumb?) Question About Refillable Mugs

Okay, thanks. I want to do the "right" thing. Since so many people go so often, I wondered if Disney had a rule about it, and I guess they do. I'm kind of surprised, since the price is now the same no matter how long you stay... Thanks for the info!

A (Dumb?) Question About Refillable Mugs

I've never used the refillable mugs before because we are normally in a DVC resort and we stock up the fridge. However, I will be going to Disney twice this year... once in May with my mom (four nights at CR) and then one week in October at VWL. This makes me think it's worth it... if I can...

    Traveling with a Car Seat!

I agree you should take the seat. I took one by myself (me and DS1 at the time) because my DH and DD3 were meeting us down there separately. It was a pain at times, especially getting it in and out of the bag I carried it in, but I don't regret it at all. And I don't regret having the bag...

    Contemporary Pool Renovations

Maybe what you heard was about the new pool being built along with the Kindom Towers there (DVC)? The new pool construction won't affect the old pool, as I understand it. I am going in May too and I'm really looking forward to a little pool time. :beach:

Dinner @ Epcot to watch Illuminations?

We actually did this in November. 7:30 is good. We ordered the prix fixe meal and the service was perfect... leisurely but not slow. Illuminations started with dessert. :-) And there are some trees, but the view is still good. Depends on the table. Good luck!:goodvibes

    Which resort would you choose???

I agree with the votes for the suite... the kitchenette with the little ones is a HUGE plus. But... you do have a fridge in the moderate... so I'd think about what sorts of things you need food-wise. If one of your kids still takes a bottle, definitely the suite. It's also VERY nice to be...

    which of the two waters?

I'd pick Blizzard Beach, but they are both great. I'm lazy, though, and I LOOOOOOOOOVE the chair lift!

When were little ones extra magic hours announced last year?

Oh, I hope, I hope, I hope this is true. We planned our October trip this year to make the most of Little Ones Travel time. I was hoping the concerts would be back too, but we'll take the EMH. If it happens. *fingers crossed*

Good pricing for CR or avg?

I'm totally jealous. :lovestruc Just to give you a comparison, we just booked four nights at CR (MK view) in mid-May for a little more than $1600. And I have an AP discount. I need to become a travel agent. Seriously.

    Please explain DDE to me!

I used mine for CRT last year. They charge your card the full amount when you book. Then, at the restaurant they give you a gift card for the discount. At first I was a little ticked off, but as expensive as the meal was, it still didn't take me long to use the card on things I would have...

    Help Me See Fireworks!

Too late for that! :-( Although I did tell her that we may not get a great table so we'd just eat quickly and then find a spot to watch the fireworks. which will be impossible with the time of night, but I don't know what else to do. Now I'm scared we won't get seated at all! Mom won't...

    Help Me See Fireworks!

Just got a 7:10 ADR at Rose and Crown. I've never eaten here around fireworks time because, in all honesty, I assumed I'd never get a good table. So this year, I'm taking my mom, and because she is a smoker, I may never be able to talk her into going back. (She is none too pleased with the...
