First Time Solo-Do I still need to make ADR's?

for table service you definitely need reservations - even at your hotel. that say I generally go with counter service - WDW knows to expect crowds - so your late in lines is generally not like your local counter service.

Moving to Orlando (probably) - help me decide

my mortgage payment is less than $700 per month. I live in Lake County, Tavares. It is pretty here and far enough away from the madness of WDW and surrounding areas to be really peacefully. Just depends upon what you want. That say definitely make sure you know where you will be working - get...

Doubletree Suites or All Star Music Suites

you might consider renting points from a DVC member - I can't help you - gave most of my points to my family when I moved here - kept some - but they are just for me.

Split stay between Disney Resort and a Disney Springs resort

other than taking a taxi to WDW resorts don't think there is a option. Now a few years ago you could ride a WDW bus with your luggage (we did when we changed hotels) now you can't. they changed that rule a few years ago. that say they do have bag transfer but think it is only good for the WDW...

Looking at vacation homes near MK

just about everything in Florida is going up - seems like a ton of people are moving here. My house who I brought in 2015 is now valued at twice the amount that I paid. I live in Lake county - it is close to the MK but not in the madness (I takes me from 45 to 60 minutes to get there) - it is 35...

What is your top reason for going solo?

I like to travel alone. when I travel with family or friends - yea you do what they want to. because sometimes it will be their only trip to WDW and I know I will back. my biggest problem is I have a long, long list of food allergies - brought into DVC back in 93 because of that problem. Now...

Do you have a favorite happy hour spot?

I like the top of world lounge at BLT - but I think it is only open to DVC member and those staying at BLT. It is on the roof so great views of the MK. if you outside. also like the WL it was definitely quiet and if you are a single female you don't hit as often there as other lounges.

Should I stay off property or stay at Disney Springs?

the bus drivers are the one at WDW who tell people to take the WDW buses - not Disney. don't do the SSR buses - you would need to take one to SSR then another to the park you want to visit. - just look at a map of WDW - take the bus for the closest hotel to the park you really want to visit. It...

    Recommendations for a private rental

a pool and a hot tub in a small house - just don't see it. You will need a larger house to get those things. really renting a condo is probably your best options. the pools are generally large enough that she could find a quiet place. Ask when the pool opens and closes (more are no longer 24...

Is new early entry a perk of springs hotels

I think they get is also - they are consider onsite - non-dis but onsite hotels. Kept in mind WDW charges non-dis resorts for this privilege. So it can be taken away at any time. that say though the 4 Seasons was onsite as well?????

Just whining with other solo travelers - what would you do?

I am pretty sure that most of the open resorts - already are full for the anniversary at least Oct and Nov. I would definitely expect for the anniversary the street performers will be back. It goes all year.

Just whining with other solo travelers - what would you do?

would go with your early Nov dates - you don't want to be at WDW during the Christmas weeks - or Thanksgiving for that matter. that say make sure you can a park reservation - assuming you have your tickets - here that Oct was already sold out.

New to Disney..stay out of Disney resorts to save money?

now I have not read everything - but the parks itself are further apart than 10 miles - especially with the new highways. So would look in the Kissimmee West area close to US192 for a house or condo (this are is also close to AK) - but be careful - some a great, some okay and some you don't...

    BLT or RIV or BWV??

If you have stayed at BLT enough times - then definitely try something else. the BWV has a great location and it has nighttime entertainment. don't know what RIV will have after the parks are closed. remember March is spring break time - so unless you got lucky - expect WDW to be crowded

    problems with the dvc online

when it says 'welcome home, pat' - it has the correct member number - however when trying to make a resort - when it gets too 'book a resort' it does not have my member number any longer but my brother's. This has been happening to me for about 3 or 4 months now - despite calls and emails to...
