You can eat at any of the resorts, so that probably shouldn't be your deciding factor.

My only comment is that you can never count on an upgrade. Book a room that you will be happy with, and count your blessings if you get an upgrade. Remember, life is not fair. don't try to live your life comparing yourself to what others have or get. Some people probably have it a lot worse...

I just called to make reservations for 4, for the 27th of this month, and I got it.

That is just for boarding. They will let you know where to line up. There are no reserved seats on Southwest.
