Would you go with days that have lower crowd predictions on Touring Plans or days that have big ride (FoP and SDD) fastpass availability? Hoping for lower crowds.

This is the only week we will be able to go and will have to drive 3-4 hours (visiting family in Las Vegas). We have never been to Disneyland (only Disney World) and would love to visit for a couple of days, but want to make sure it is going to be worth driving. Main concern is the crowds.

Would it be better for me to go on Saturday, 7/8 and Sunday, 7/9 or Wednesday, 7/12 and Thursday, 7/13? I know the D23 Expo starts Friday, 7/14, and didn't know if the crowds would be unbearable toward the end of that week.
