Yes, it sounds like you are good to go. You can check double check if you go to the MDE site. Click on "my account", then "magic bands and cards." It will show what you have linked and allow you to select a magic band or card and change it's status. Mine shows my band and the AP card green...

Yes you can use your card as long as it is linked. You just tap it against the readers the same way you tap the band. I used my card on Saturday with no problems and my magic band just came today. I think the card is probably going to be the better option for me.
