Flying By The Seat Of Our Pants Trip!

This is our fourth trip to Disney and this time we're flying by the seat of our pants! No dining reservations, quick service meals only and no planned days. We're just going to pick parks at random to how we feel that day. This time, we're there for ten days, so we're going to explore some of...

    Your opinions please?

The first year, we handed out our extra glowsticks to lots of kids. Just bracelets though, not necklaces. The Magic Kingdom is quite dark at night I find! lol We handed out quite a few on the bus back to our resort as well and it made a LOT of tired kids and tired parents very happy. I never...

    First Visit Tips?

    1. Take more batteries for your camera than you thought you'd need. You'll need them and you'll pay dearly for them in the parks. 2. If you opt not to do the Photopass (I find it expensive), don't be afraid to ask someone to take your family's picture. I think I've taken more pics of other...

I have a headache from planning this trip and could use some opinions please!

Well, first off all I'd leave the aunt at home. :rotfl: Just kidding. Disney seems to accomodate allergies very very well if they're given notice of them. You certainly have some challenges but fortunately there are some terrific buffets to choose from. My personal favourite was Crystal...

    Le Cellier for Canadians?

Both of our experiences were very very good. Right from the get-go while we were waiting for our table we had trivia with the other patrons in the lobby. It was quite funny to see how little people knew about Canada! Even people FROM Canada! Our servers were gracious and the food delicious. I'm...

    Dilemma

Even if you have custody of your children for 10 months of the year, you would still need a letter stating that your husband has agreed for you to take them out of the country with is consent. You may be the primary parent, but it doesn't lessen his responsibility or his rights to their...

    Kitchen Sink Sundae??

Is that all? Just ONE can of whipped cream? :rotfl: Thanks for the speedy reply folks! Think I have to add this to our "must do" list. I wanted to see the Boardwalk anyway! I'll probably have to walk it for 6 hours to work off the toppings alone!! :lmao:

    Kitchen Sink Sundae??

My kids just saw a picture of this monstrosity and now going to be a part of our trip! How much does this sucker cost and just to confirm it's at Beaches and Cream at Boardwalk? Thanks!

    Disney Quest Worth It?

I was thinking about taking my two kids (11 and 13) to Disney Quest for our first day. Is it worth the money? Anyone have pics or experiences to share? Thanks!!

OT - Pirates of the Caribbean Cure/Black Pearl

While my family loves these movies, I think 5 might be a little young yet. There's no swearing or inappropriate sex scenes, but it can get violent and quite intense for a little guy. Watch it yourself first, because you know him better than anyone. But for my kids, they were a bit older.

    Spirit Airlines....$9 tickets

:scared1:You get what you pay for on Spirit. We've flown them three times round trip and I won't go out of my way to fly with them again, no matter how cheap they are. We always tried to get the first flight to Orlando (out of Detroit)and the last flight out of Orlando to Detroit. The first...

    Niagara falls Hotels

We're partial to the Embassy. Clean, spacious, great views and a nice hotel, but pricey in the spring and summer. We've also stayed at the Comfort Inn on Clifton Hill and while not fancy, it wasn't too bad at all. Nice pool, free breakfast, close to everything so you're not gouged for parking...

Would you let your teenager do this? (Another Parenting Thing)

I totally agree with your decision and your reasoning. And kudos to your son for coming to you and asking to go. He could have made up all kinds of lies to be away for a weekend with friends to cover him but he didn't. Says a lot about his character and your parenting skills. Obviously, he still...

reservations are booked, but after reading reviews i'm not that happy

Reviews are subjective! What one person loves, another hates. lol We ate at Tony's and the food was really good. We all enjoyed our meals and if I recall, I had lasagna, the kids had spaghetti and meatballs and my husband would have had something with meat. :rotfl: We had apps, entree's and...

    BEST TIPS thread!

    1. It's a vacation, not boot camp. :lmao:Take time to rest and enjoy your scenery. Take cues from your children if you're taking them. If they need a break, take one. You'll never see it all in one shot. 2. Comfortable shoes. Even if they are the ugliest ones you own, bring them. Don't make...

    Boatwrights at POR?

We've been there twice and both times enjoyed it very much. The meals are plentiful and very very tasty. Obviously, if you go later in the evening (after 8 or 9) you're going to hear the piano player next door because that's when he plays! :rotfl: We made a special trip to go back to...

    Souvenirs

Probably too late, but one of the easiest souveniers we found and the most inexpensive were the tins of mints. A huge selection with lots of different characters on them, good tasting mints inside and a nice metal container. They were less than $2 for most of them (larger tins were more). We...
