Party of 11- Rent DVC points for SS Grand Villa or 3 rooms at POR?

It would be nice to be able to do breakfast at the villa but we wouldn't really be cooking any other times, I am guessing.

Oops, I meant Saratoga Springs. I am a rookie!

Party of 11- Rent DVC points for SS Grand Villa or 3 rooms at POR?

We have a party of 11- 7 adults and 4 kids (14, 11, 8, 5) for next June. I was going to just book three rooms at POR as we have stayed there before and liked the rooms that sleep 5 but then I was reading about renting DVC points and the Grand Villa and I am wondering if that might be the way to...

    How do I make requests?

Do you happen to know which number to call?

    How do I make requests?

I wanted to request having a table to ourselves and to have them note that we have two birthdays and an anniversary. Do I call? Email? I booked through Costco if that makes any difference.

Can DH join us on the ship later?

We are renting a car from WDW to port. Last time DH dropped us off at port then went to return the rental. It took him so long to return it and catch the shuttle back that we missed our boarding group waiting for him. This time he suggested that we just board when he drops us off and he will...

    Baby-Wearing & Rides

When DD6 was an infant she had to sit on her bottom on the seat of the teacups. I held her there the whole time and she loved it but it felt a little ridiculous!

    Babies @ Disneyland

DD1 was only a month old when she went for the first time. I wouldn't have necessarily chosen to take her but we went for an overnight trip with my cheerleaders so of course I took her. I love the pics of her there so tiny! We also got her the golden 50th anniversary ears because she was born in...

Teach this old dog some new tricks.

Is there a way to get. Copy of the Indiana Jones decoder? Online maybe? They handed out cards with it when IJ first opened. It's fun to decode the messages.

Locals... what driving distance do you consider local and how do you enjoy the parks?

We are 3.5 hours away and go several times a year for 2-3 days. It is too far to drive for a day trip IMO. My dad lives 10 minutes away and we go to the park when we visit him also.

    Favorite Activities of Yesterland

I also really enjoyed the Rocket Rods but there were so many times they broke down while we were in line. Also Country Bears, motorboat cruise (through Gummi Glen!), and the old Aladdin dinner show- the rice and the chocolate lamp with mousse were amazing!

    Baby Center ?

If you have a park hopper I highly recommend the building in DCA that houses Animation Academy, Turtle Talk, etc. There is a huge lobby with couches and carpet where you can let your little one crawl around. I have spent a lot of time there with my little ones!

    Question about "weight" requirement...

I always hold on to my thrill seeking, skinny DD on basically any fast ride. I definitely have worried about her flying out of BTMRR!

When Do LA Area Schools Start The 2014-2015 Year?

There are MANY different districts in the LA and Orange County areas. Some go back as early as mid-August and some as late as mid-September. It is really hard to judge ahead of time.

    Confession time....what haven't you seen/had at Disneyland?????

I have never been in the Penny Arcade, eaten at any of the "fancy" restaurants besides Blue Bayou, or ridden the Golden Zephyr. I think that's about it.

    Driving!

If you do stop in Solvang (20 minutes east of me!) I recommend a restaurant called Chomp. Good food and a great, casual vibe. It's a favorite of ours when we are in the area.

Rides Shut Down Due to Heat?

I have a friend who is at DLR today and posted that many rides are shut down due to the heat. He says it's 92 there today. I've been there when it was 115 and everything was operational. I'm assuming he doesn't know what he is talking about so I thought I would ask the Dis experts. Anyone know?
