    Shopping Qs

Just a quick warning that if you are going to use it to watch the official UMD films, that these are region coding. Thus US ones will play Region 1's and UK Region 2

Does anybody else listen to Magic 107.7

The first thing we do when we get the hire car is to tune to Magic. Really love listening to Delilah :teeth:. Can only listen to Internet radio at work so would get the morning show so don't tend to bother listen to Radio 7 instead

Been to WDW, what are the advantages to going to Disneyland Paris

I am/was a shareholder but it has recently been delisted from the London stock exchange so may be more difficult/expensive to obtain now. I have a feeling that my shares may have been sold for me as I didn't respond to one of the many letters I received from them

We are going the last weekend of November too so would be very interested to hear all about the Disneyland Hotel. So glad you enjoyed it, they really go for those Halloween decorations don't they.

what's the weather in mid-November in DLP?

Couldn't agree more. DLP is wonderful at Christmas and to me the coldness only helps that feel, as long as you're dressed for it. We loved it so much we're really pushing the boat out this year and staying at the Disneyland hotel a short walk for that Hot Chocolate top up. I'm so excited...

anyone been to turkey for a holiday !

We went last summer to Turkey and though we enjoyed it the locals really put off DW and she has vowed not to return :confused3 . She really didn't like the pushiness mind you I think the biggest problem was that it wasn't Disney :earsboy: We did find at immigration this summer that they...

    dvd's

You shouldn't be able to buy a multi-region machine out of the box in most retail shops as they are obliged to sell Region 2 machines. Many of the cheaper makes can be hand set hacked using the correct code easily obtainable on the net, but be aware before buying a player that not all machines...

Virgin Credit Card / Frequent Flyer

We also have the credit card (and we should have got the free companion flight now  ) and can advise that the points automatically go from the credit card to the FF account when the statements are raised. Though I did have to advise FF of the correct card number as for some reason they...

    Vauxhall Zafira?

We looked at the Zafira last year when we were changing our Scenic. We too thought the inside dated so in the end went for the Toyota Corolla Verso - another (occational) 7 seater and we haven't looked back (especially as it has parking censors :rotfl2: ). DS loves the DVD player and DW & I...

    smart car

I love our little Smart, though I don't think I'd enjoy too many long journeys in it as the ride is a bit hard. We've had ours now over 18 months and (touch wood) have had no problems with it at all. Storage space is remarkably good, but you do have to use the space properly, in fact DW...

    Kidney Stones and UK Hospitals

Unfortunately I've had a number of kidney stone problems, including one that cancelled a WDW trip. Only one of these was through NHS though. My treatment was pain killers, an x-ray and when the pain got too much, one evening, a morphine injection and a trip to casualty. I was then given a...

I'm just about on the last chapter of this book and have really enjoyed reading it, in fact I'd nearly go as far as to say that it was unputdownable. I was worried that as it is a "business" book that it might be quite a dry read but I'm glad to say it was nothing of the sought. It really...

    Isn't Ebay great!

We're going through a serious declutter project at home and have started doing car boots most free weekends and well pleased with the results, but the more seriously collectable stuff will soon be appearing on Ebay as can't get the value from the back of a car. Also certain things don't seem to...

What are you reading at the moment?

No I haven't seen that one, thanks for the tip, I'll try and track it down. I've got loads of imagineering books re the building of WDW and DLP but not the purchase of the land. Obviously I can't answer for Cyrano, but I'm finding it a fascinating read, it shows Eisner first as a saviour...

What are you reading at the moment?

I'm about half way through this one too. Thought it would be a rather dry read, but how wrong I was, I'm really enjoying it, though I do need to keep going back a few pages to see who was being spoken about. Hopefully it will spur me on to read the loads of other Disney books I've collected.
