    Heated pools at WP Townhouses

Typically the pool heat controls are locked up, and not adjustable by the guests. There are no temperature settings on the dials of the units, so they just have a color coded "range" stamped on the dial, from cool to warm. I would guess that our pool gets to roughly 80 degrees, and stays there...

Any experience with this townhouse in WH?

Oasis is a great manco first of all. The security deposit for owners who have their homes managed by Oasis is typically a credit card imprint that goes to the mgmt company only, not the owner. Ask me how I know... :)

It's definitely been changed now, it's 42" now.

    Rental home requires children's DOB?

Osceola County has a law requiring owners and rental companies to keep a guest register, which includes ages. We do ours by listing them in categories.. 1) infant 2) under 18 3) over 18, which meets the requirements of the statute. Actually, I believe the requirement started after 9/11 due...

Checking to see if HOA fees have been paid

Long story, but something I'm not at liberty to comment on, especially on a public internet forum like this one!

All of the local grocery stores realize this, and there are mini sized portions of just about everything for sale in the local stores.

Suggestions to make sure vacation home renters don't get scammed??

#1 - Pay with a credit card. Visa has a lot of protection in place for the consumer. American Express, even more so. #2 - Buy trip insurance. It's cheap, and will protect you (read your policy to make sure). www.insuremytrip.com is a good place to look for this. I recently read...

    Questions about Windsor Hills townhomes

You would need to ask the owner. Each room has a cable TV WIRE, that doesn't mean the owner necessarily installed a TV in each of the rooms though. The homes do vary in amenities such as TVs, quality of the TVs, furnishings, extra amenities, and also price. You do get what you pay for...

Checking to see if HOA fees have been paid

That statement is incorrect...if a homeowner is in arrears to the HOA, 2 things happen. 1 - Their cable TV to their home is cut off. 2 - All clubhouse priveleges / pool access are suspended. There is no ability for the guests or the owners to "pay" for access..that is an incorrect...

Windsor Hill main pool - is it warm enough to swim now?

The main clubhouse pool is heated year round. Propane fired heater, so should be warm always. (The pool homes use heat exchanger systems, different principle).

How much sun will we get with a west-facing pool?

People advertise anything they can that gives them an advantage, but one thing people fail to consider, is that Florida is very south in terms of its latitude. In May, the sun is very high in the sky, almost directly overhead, so oftentimes even a north facing pool will get a lot of sun. In...

    Night life in downtown Orlando?

I can tell you one of the funnest bars we've gone to in just about any city is a dueling piano bar in Orlando (they're a chain, in other cities as well by the way) called Howl at the Moon. Especially fun later in the evening when they start playing some of the more..."randy" songs to put it...

Lots of Windsor Hills, no Windsor Palms - problem?

The distances are from Windsor Hills, but all of these are also close to Windsor Palms. Here's a link to the stores on US-192, the main road by WHP. WP is off of Formosa Gardens Road. Everything on this section / portion of 192 is very close to WP though. Red Lobster 7780 W Irlo...

    Windsor Hills overpriced?

It's about 20-25 minutes to Universal from WHR. There is a similar resort that is closer to Universal, same builder as WHR, Pulte, called Vista Cay. Rents at Vista Cay are close to double that of WHR, due to it's proximity to the convention center.

Drive from Windsor Hills to Magic Kingdom

I used to take the shortcut, now we go 192 east to World Drive north when going to the MK, I think it's faster actually than the Sherberth Road route. I would only take Sherbeth now if we're going to Animal Kingdom, or there's a ton of traffic to get around on 192 or on the World Drive route.

Good non-buffet breakfast near Windsor Hills

Our favorite restaurant on 192 is the Houlihans maybe a mile to the west down 192 (from WHR). Great food, reasonable prices, and it's by far the nicest Houlihan's restaurant I've ever been in, they have a gorgeous facility and an awesome outdoor bar / dining area. Last time we were there they...

Windsor Hills - Would you pay $30 per day to heat your pool in August??

I always turn my pool heat on in May, I like the pool warm, and hate a cold pool, especially in the evenings. It may not come on during the day, but at night, it's awesome to sit in a warm pool! It does depend on the weather, you can get a spell where it's in the 90s consistently and you...

Best day to travel to West Coast beaches

I would actually suggest Clearwater as one of the nicer west coast beaches worth visiting. I just sent a guest there from Windsor Hills last week, he called me to thank me, said it was one of the highlights of their trip and one of the nicest beaches he's ever been to! It's about 1.25 hours...

    Condo Rental for 8 help!!!

2 things I've noticed over the past few years... 1 - That is a peak period, and very popular time to visit. 2 - right now is a peak period for bookings, and July / August are booking up fast. My advice is to find something and book it soon. The nicest places and the better deals go...
