    Super cushiony sandals?

I am a huge fan of Fit Flops. They are super comfortable and pretty stylish too. They don't scream "comfort shoes."

I'm in the Houston area, and I think our economy is doing better than most other areas of the U.S.

Easter Egg hunts- real eggs or plastic eggs?

When my kids and my nieces and nephews were all little, I'd have a big Easter Egg hunt on the Saturday before Easter. I'd put money and small pieces of candy in plastic eggs. It never occurred to me to use real eggs, although I remember looking for real eggs when I was a kid. Sadly, when...

Titanic 100 years later - Is chivalry dead?

You never know how someone will react in a life and death situation, until it actually happens, but I feel pretty confident that my husband would not get in a lifeboat until he knew that all the women and children were on lifeboats. I would expect that the captain and crew of a ship...

    What's your favorite Easter Candy?

I love the Reese's Peanut Butter eggs. I can resist all the other Easter candies, but not the Peanut Butter eggs.

How many books a month do you read??

I read 1-2 books a month. I read every night, but I don't read a lot of books per month, because I tend to read really long books.

What's the wildest weather event you have ever experienced?

In Oklahoma, we usually receive a lot of warning that conditions are ripe for a tornado, but I learned the hard way that meteorologists can't always predict when a tornado might strike. My daughter was playing in a soccer tournament in Tulsa two years' ago. Our team stayed at a rundown...

    Little House books

I read these books for the first time when I was an adult. I read the whole set to my son when he was about eight. I'm not sure which one of us loved the books more. However, I think an adult perspective of these books is different from a child's perspective. Long Hard Winter was very...

Do you like the look of a log cabin home?

I'm not sure I would want one for my primary residence, but I would love to have one for a vacation home.

What book would you read next? (poll)

I would vote for the James Mitchner book. I have to admit, though, Poland is one of the few James Mitchner books I have not read. He is a great storyteller and his characters are so vivid. An added bonus is that I always feel like I get a history lesson when I read his books and also learn...

Anyone ever been to Rome, Italy

I second this advice! I'm planning a trip to Italy this summer, and those folks on fodors.com can give you as much information on Italy as the folks on this board can give you about Disney World. I love the internet for trip planning.

I like Taco Bell, but Bueno is better! As others have said they use fresher ingredients and I love that salsa bar.

Idiot teenager causes CM Tigger suspension

Even if Tigger did slug the kid for no reason (and I think there probably was a reason), why did the dad turn the video over to the media instead of turning it over to his lawyer? Could it be that he wanted attention? That kid will forever be known as the kid who got slugged by Tigger. I...

Do you hold the door for people?

I always hold the door open for people and they usually say "thanks." I'm teaching my kids to hold the doors open, too. I want them to especially understand that it is a gesture of respect for a younger person to hold the door open for an older person. Common curtesy is so easy to practice...

    The Freedom Writers

I took my 13-year-old to see it. There was violence and some bad language, but it was mild compared to some of the things I've seen on tv. It is a lot like other "true high school" stories, (a little too uplifting and unbelievable at times) but, overall, I enjoyed it.

Which was your favorite Little House on the Prarie book?

I love Farmer Boy, too! I'll bet Almonzo loved that book. He must have had so much fun telling those stories to Laura. What a wonderful gift for Laura to have given her husband.

Which was your favorite Little House on the Prarie book?

I wish I was one of your students! I was a little girl that loved to read but no one ever steered me towards the Little House books. As an adult, I loved reading them to my kids.
