    2012 DVC Member Cruise

I thought about it, but it really wasn't worth the point totals. Instead, I pushed my points towards a 2013 Mediterranean cruise!

Need Help! Changing Names For Cruise Booked On Points??

I have not had issues in the past changing the names on a DCL reservation booked on points. (subject to the $95 change fee, of course.)

    Disney Phone Interview Tomorrow.

It was good, although short. Then again, we talked in geek speak enough that he didn't need to grill me on anything major. The online status still (or maybe it just moved to) something that said I'm actively interviewing, which may mean that I'm moving to an in person interview. I'm crossing my...

    Disney Phone Interview Tomorrow.

Yikes! So I'm a bit nervous, even though I shouldn't be. I have a phone screen with Disney tomorrow for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Online. Wish me luck. :goodvibes

How do you feel about the new facial hair policy?

What's interesting is this policy applies to the folks behind the scenes too. When I was being interviewed for a software development job with Disney Cruise Line, I was updated on the Disney Look and told that I couldn't have a beard (which without a beard I totally look like I'm 12.) I wouldn't...

    Online booking Jan 19

They've been working on the DVC component of Wishes (the CRO reservation system) for quite some time now. Since Wishes is already in use online and at the resorts and by MS, I can't imagine they'll have crazy amounts of trouble when they introduce the online booking. It's a smart move to...

    Annual Maintenance

Yes you can. Just call member accounting and ask for your dues to be taken out monthly. They'll just need a voided check and some information from you.

DVC Newb...thinking of buying into VGC

I think general availability of VGC contracts is going to be rare. My guide says the wait list is lengthy. VGC contracts on resale are pretty rare as well. After a quick search, I've only found one at $98 a point, which isn't much of a discount off the disney price.

Lastest Incentives from purchases while on the cruise?

For add-ons it was both a credit for AKL, BLT and Aluani, backdated points and 18 VIP Fastpasses. At 50 points, I believe it was $5 or so, at 300+ it went down $20 a point. In addition at 200+ points, you got a $500 stateroom credit.

New and Improved Introduce Yourself and Post a pic thread!

Just off the inaugural cruise to Alaska and figured I'd share a picture of me with a bear.

    Planning on DVC resale purchase

They can do it because access to those ancillary items are "perks", and not part of your actual contract. In reality, the only thing your contract guarantees you is the right to book at the resort your buying into.

Why is Disney ROFR mainly BCV?

I don't see how this would be terribly difficult for them. Since the new system treats points as a payment source, it would be easy for them to know how and at what resort points are used in a booking. This would make it far easier to enable features on the new room keys, such as "pool access"...

    Need Advise on Buying Resale

Well, IANAL either... Here's some food for thought: Your deeded interest only guarantees you the right to book your home resort with a minimal booking advantage (I believe it's one month.) Everything else you can do in the DVC system (book at other resorts, exchange into RCI, DCL, etc.) is a...

    Need Advise on Buying Resale

You would have a very limited chance that your resale purchase would close by December 31, 2010.

We're married, buying DVC and planning our next trip!~

Before I bought into the DVC, we used to (and still do) see the "Heard the best kept Disney Secret?" with pluto looking very suprised. I always said it's because he heard that Goofy was well endowed.

    DVC Member Cruise 2011

By the time I got through to Member Services, they were sold out of the categories I wanted. I'm on a waitlist, not sure if it'll come through.
