The fanny packs we use are actually not Disney. They are more like the ones you would use on a day hike (smaller version). On rides we would turn them to the side, front or lift them above lap bar. I can't remember having any problems on any of the rides.

For the past two years we have made trips in October. 2002 10/25 - 11/1, 2003 10/18-10/25. I have waited until park hours were out to buy MNSSHP tickets and make CG PS (during fireworks). I have not had any problems so far and will probably wait to do the same for this year 10/22-10/30.
