    Just Back.... Holy Construction!

I want to reiterate that I'm all for the changes. And I did have a nice time, and found enough joy to assuage any personal disappointment I might have felt. My post was more to 1) point out that there were more barriers and signs of construction than I've ever seen; and 2) say that I felt bad...

    Just Back.... Holy Construction!

Even if the construction isn't completed I wouldn't worry. Just like everyone else, Disney would prefer not to pay overtime, much less what would probably be double time for working on Christmas Eve. Worst case scenario is you have a lovely view of those tropical beige curtains.

    Just Back.... Holy Construction!

I just got back, and wow, the amount of construction is crazy! Downtown Disney is a mess, of course. The road is torn up. There are scaffolds and barriers everywhere. During the day it is incredibly loud because of the heavy equipment and power tools being used. And on Friday nights the traffic...

Best Thing I Ever Ate - Disney

BF: Though I haven't seen it in a couple years, there used to be, on occasion, a curried sausage casserole topped with biscuits at BOMA breakfast. I couldn't get enough of that. Appetizer: It wasn't as good even the following year, but maybe 6 or 7 years ago the calamari plate at Flying...

    Disney Food Pictures...Part V!

Good to hear. I doubt it's as good as Dominique Ansel's, but then I imagine you don't have to stand in a ridiculous line for one (personally, I think it's better to go to the bakery in the afternoon, when the cronuts are gone but, inexplicably, the superior Kouign Amann is readily available...

    Disney Food Pictures...Part V!

I have a bunch of photos from my last trip. Is there a way to post them without a photobucket or flicker account (et. al.)?

    Resort hopping... what to eat

Depending on what time you're circling on the monorail, head up to California Grill and have some wine with a view (and possibly a sunset). They have a terrific list. Just don't leave it too late, or it'll be full and they won't let you up. Also, Jiko has the most extensive South African wine...

    Disney World or Disneyland

For me Disneyland offers a number of advantages. 1. Pirates is much better, and its location far better integrated into the park. Haunted Mansion is also in a better spot. Small World is better. A lot of people like Space Mountain better, though I think it's a wash (I sort of like that WDW's...

    Just Back. FP+/Magic Band/MDE Impressions.

I agree 100%. I know that's less than 112%, but hey, what can you do. I believe Disney's response would be that once everything is completely rolled out this won't be an issue. Because, you know, technical problems will so clearly be a thing of the past.

    Just Back. FP+/Magic Band/MDE Impressions.

Yeah as I said, I wish I had had a unilaterally positive experience and was convinced that this system was undeniably a major upgrade, but that just wasn't what we encountered. I'm not saying I'm shutting myself off from re-evaluation, just trying to be honest about everything we experienced...

This isn't a bad idea once the craziness of the holidays subsides!

    Just Back. FP+/Magic Band/MDE Impressions.

I envy those for whom FP+ has been a unilaterally positive experience. I wish it made everything better for me, and that I loved it. But though I liked aspects of it and am willing to re-evaluate when it is completely rolled out (hopefully without these kinks or whatever new ones are sure to...

I would never tell someone what they should and shouldn't do regarding technology! Therefore I definitely think your concerns are valid. I would probably print out your selections so you have some kind of hard copy to show CMs. There are the FP+ kiosks, too, but of course those aren't directly...

    Disney Food Pictures...Part IV!

Ah! I would have been pleading with her to stop, please stop! Don't ruin my bread pudding! Who wants sauce on ALL of it? Well I suppose those with big-time sweet-tooths might, but certainly not me. And what does it mean that that is the only way to get sauce on all of it? Are people incapable...

    Disney Food Pictures...Part IV!

I've never seen a waitress plate this tableside. That might be the problem. Did she pour the sauces on herself? They are very, very sweet, and a little goes a long way.... particularly the caramel sauce. Unfortunately this might have ruined the dish, as I generally find the pudding itself to be...

    Just Back. FP+/Magic Band/MDE Impressions.

I just meant trespassing in a general sense, for whatever reason, not necessarily off site guests. More to the point, I suppose it is important to differentiate between people who really shouldn't be there and the much larger group that Disney qualifies as trespassers. I honestly don't worry too...

    Just Back. FP+/Magic Band/MDE Impressions.

Good idea. Funny enough, since we couldn't get the shared plans feature to work, I took a photo of our dinner reservations and texted it to everyone. Later, when the site didn't show all our plans, I used the photos myself! :rotfl2:

    Just Back. FP+/Magic Band/MDE Impressions.

Having just returned from WDW last night, I thought I'd give my impressions of how the new system worked for me. To the best of my ability I'll try to avoid the "What if?" scenarios while foregoing the urge to alternatively prepping for doomsday and hallucinating within bursts of pixie dust...

    "Must try" beers on property?

By the way, I'm not sure what part of Southern California you're from, but the Bruery is one of the better craft breweries in the country, and it's just a stone's throw from Disneyland! Definitely check that out!

    "Must try" beers on property?

Big beer snob here. I'll try to give you a heads up for your specific tastes. Le Cellier serves Unibroue beers, and your husband will probably love Blanche de Chambly. The also serve Ephemere and Cherry Ephemere for your fruit-loving tastes. ESPN Club has Widmer Hefeweizen, which is pretty...
