Do you take Potassium Pills? How do they make you feel?

I did some research on this last year. I was having horrible leg cramps due to taking prednisone, but at the time didn't make the connection. I figured it was b/c of a potassium deficiency. What I read - and honestly I don't remember the reasons - was that potassium ingested through food...

    Math experts, since when does

12 + 3 = 17?? Our dd10 missed 10 days of school this winter due to a severe sinus infection. Both times she was absent for this, I took her to the dr., but didn't get dr.'s notes. She had previously missed 2 days due to random minor illnesses. We got a letter from the school that said if...

I have to quit my job

Hmmm, I'm interested. Our filter in school is so weird. Some boards it blocks, others it doesn't. The DIS is one it blocks. :sad2:

    What AREN'T you paranoid about?

I was a bottle-fed formula, didn't wear a bicycle helmet, and I'm sure a myriad of other activities that have since been designated dangerous to kids. I read some time ago that farm kids are actually healthier than (sub)urban kids, because they are exposed to many germs to which they develope...

    prednasone ugh!

The only bad effect I got from prednisone was bad leg cramps. At one point I had an xray on my foot. I had such a horrible cramp in the middle of the night that the muscles in my foot cramped up and I had residual pain. Before my surgery, I had several cortisone shots as well as several...

    Home remedies for rash?

I have tried the topical Benadryl at night. It helps a bit, but not much. I can't take Benadryl tabs, as it completely knocks me out and I feel like I have the worst hangover of my life when I wake up. My sister, who has lupus, gave me a couple of Attarax on Sunday. She told me that Zyrtec...

Should everyone who auditions be chosen?

Is it necessary to bring politics into this? I am about as liberal as they come, but I don't agree for a minute with this. Not everything in life is a handout.

Babies and cars/vehicles - what do you REALLY need?

Whatever you do, don't go for a Pacifica! We absolutely adored ours, but with the 3rd row seating, there is NO room for storage. I went on a "chick trip" to FL 2 summers ago with my mom, sister, and 2 daughters. We were lucky to get home without killing each other.

    Home remedies for rash?

I have an itchy rash over my upper chest, lower right arm and hand, and parts of my face. I went to my dr. 2 weeks ago, and she put me on an antibiotic, in case of infection (did nothing), prednisone to help with the itching (helped for about 2 days and gave me HORRIBLE leg cramps), and told me...

Should everyone who auditions be chosen?

Another vote for NO! Is this parent going to be banging on the doors of college admissions offices if their darling doesn't get in? Will they be calling future employers when another candidate is chosen over their dd? This girl is in high school, right? Ridiculous, and totally agree with...

Obama supporters! - A positive place to talk about his campaign

Darn, I guess my hopes were too high for an Obama blow-out. But at least as of right now, the margin is only 6%: http://www.electionreturns.state.pa.us/

Valium and Flexeril: Which would you take if you had to?

I've never taken valium, but flexeril has been a god-send to me! With my back problems and surgery, it's the only way I've been able to sleep. I wouldn't recommend taking it during the day though, or the sand man may catch you at the most inappropriate times! :)

So, with gas prices up, people parking SUV's

Sorry, no sympathy here from a Prius driver - for over 5 years. I do understand about needing a large vehicle for your work. Do you have another car, one that is more economical for daily running around? If so, why not trade it for something more mileage friendly? If you don't, would it...
