    Sea World and special needs

What sort of things are you hoping for? I don't think Sea World presents very many issues for people with special needs but if you can be more specific perhaps I can offer some advice. BTW I like your avatar.

    Flying into So Cal

Go to kayak to search airfare. Check RT to San Diego and click the little checkbox for Show Nearby Airports. (For some reason it gives me SNA when I check San Diego but it doesn't give me San Diego when I check SNA.) Kayak is AWESOME. You can toggle your flight times, fare, airlines, airports...

    Please Plan My Trip

LOL yes, sorry. This is what happens when your brain is fried and you post quickly before leaving for work. I don't really get the appeal of Santa Barbara, I find it boring.

    FREEBIES list

Here's one you can do from home... at least it worked 10 years ago. Write a letter to a character, mail it to the park and sooner or later you will receive an autographed photo in return. I've written to Pooh at both Disneyland and WDW and received two different photos.

Live Show Tapings - info. please

I've never been to America's Got Talent. Yes, they would like you to dress hip and upscale, some say "like you are going to a club," but I've never seen anyone turned away for not following it. I have seen people seated in the very last row who had obviously broken at least one of the rules...

    Please Plan My Trip

Near Monterey is a cute town called Carmel-by-the-Sea. Take the 17-mile drive and see the lone cypress They boysenberry spread from the Apple Farm is TO DIE FOR! My neighbor and I are asking a friend of mine coming down next month to stop in SLO and get us a case. Solvang is adorable and...

"Wicked" at Pantages Theater in Hollywood

If anyone is staying or will be visiting that day in Downtown LA, Universal or Hollywood & Highland... take the red line (subway) and skip the traffic. The Hollywood/Vine station is right by the theatre.

Yes, please post your reviews. I've only heard terrible things about this one and I'm anxious to hear what you think.

Live Show Tapings - info. please

I agree. There is often a lot of waiting in line and waiting in the studio. Some shows are more fun to attend than others, depending on what you expect to see. Live shows are fun because no matter what they will have to start and end on time. Many of the live shows are talent contests so you...

Anyone going to Grauman's (sp?) Chinese Theatre? Need some help.

I know I replied to this... hmm..... I might be going up there soon to catch the Ratatouille stage show at the El Cap. If I do I'll grab a disposible camera (sorry, don't have my own) and try to snap some pix for you.

    Night show in September?

I worked there several years ago and we had a night Shamu show every single day of the year. It's just earlier in the evening than in the high season. If I recall correctly I think it was at 5:30 but if course that could be different now. The last shows were always the night Shamu show, then the...

Anyone used the Kennel at SW

When I worked there a few years ago all of the kennels were indoors in air conditioning. The floor is concrete because it's easiest to keep clean for the safety of your pet. Everything in the kennel room is washed each night at closing and it's very clean.

never been to seaworld-what should we see?

I haven't seen the current shows but with previous versions Shamu Rocks was my favorite. There was always a special energy for that one.

    Touring Guide Suggestions?

If you are going in low season you can just go and everything is pretty easy to get to. If you are going in the summer or the week between Christmas and the New Year, be ready for crowds. Get there early and make sure to get a map/show schedule on the way in. Go to whichever of the big three...

Yay or Nay: Getting Rid of Shamu's Happy Harbor for a Ride

Nay! Happy Harbor is the one place the kids can run around like maniacs and get it out of their system so they can sit still for the shows, or after sitting still for the shows. Plus it would totally suck for the little ones to get rid of it for something they are too small to ride.

    Disneyland with ADD Child

I've heard parents swear by a nap/break in the afternoon. Resting in the hotel or swimming give the kids a break from the theme park sensory overload. I have some lost children tips. Write their name, your hotel info and hopefully the accompanying adult's cellphone number on a paper for...

how long are the shows at seaworld???

Sea World show schedules can change daily based on projected attendance for that day. If they exceed their projections they can sometimes add shows. This makes pre-planning rather difficult. They plan it so you'll be able to catch most everything, but if you have extra things in there as well...
