    Bottled Water

An option I always use, instead of spending $$, toting through the park, etc...most counter service locations have to provide a free cup of ice water (tap) if you ask for it, no purchase neccessary. And it's not some little cup, it's the regular soda size. Some locations don't have it, but most...

    Parents' names on invitations questions

We paid for our wedding entirely ourselves, but my DH was very insistent that his parents wanted their names on the invite, so we came up with: The pleasure of your company is requested for the wedding of Daniel *last name* son of Mr & Mrs. *his parent's names* & Meg *last name* daughter of...

    Post College Possible?

DH and I are both young (23 for me, 28 for him) and had both just graduated when we were engaged. We paid for our wedding on our own and have not regretted it one bit. Its possible, you just have to be willing to compromise. A lot of our wedding was DIY and we put in a lot of time crafting to...

    After the wedding??

we all went to JellyRolls for the 'after party'. DFIL paid for everyone's cover charge which was very sweet of him. It was so nice to get into some jeans and a tshirt and relax with everyone. We have great memories of our families singing along and bantering with the pianist lol.

    A Perky Disneymoon?

I agree! well said :) If you're buying them/wearing them purely for the perks you just shouldn't bother. Wearing the bridal ears around WDW is something you really only get to do once in a lifetime....so wear them if thats what you're looking forward to, not for the perks....those are...

    Table Names help!

99% of our wedding was DIY, we were really trying to keep costs down. We used characters for our table names, not 'couples' though, because we wanted to stay withing the 'fab 5' circle (ie, main characters) and had 9 tables. We did: Mickey Minnie Donald Daisy Goofy Chip & Dale Pluto then...

Buying Wedding Gown Off The Internet

i absolutely would! I found my gown on ebay, a $1200 Alfred Angelo design, paid $200 w/ shipping, dress was SO beautiful in person, new with tags. I paid $150 in alterations (bustling, sewed in bustier, etc), so in the end I paid $350, saving $850!!! There are always risks, but if you're not...

Having hard time deciding on UK Upper or Lower -Dessert Party

you can see my report of the UK lower in #13 on this thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=30494944 I was very unlucky there with smoke & ash, but if given the chance, id do it all again. It was an awesome location and so much fun! :) (even if we were choking and smelling of ash lol)

    Blurb.com

I used blurb for both our guest book and our official wedding album. I liked the fact that if anything ever happened to our album we could order a replacement, unlike a 'traditional' album, which would be much more difficult and costly to replace. I used a landscape imagewrap large book for...

    Kids Table at the Reception?

Goody-bags work great! We gave coloring books, crayons, educational disney-flash cards, and a big hit were mickey stampers! (you can pick out a few adults with stamps on their hands in our reception photos thanks to our ring-bearer lol) We had the bags set up at the door to the reception with...

Did you use an IPOD instead of a DJ/Band? How was it and would you recommend it?

I made each of my playlists at least 1 hr long just in case, and my 'dancing' list 2 hours long. (we obviously didn't use all the music, I just wanted it to be REALLY padded) My playlists were: Guest Seating (Disney love songs from 'On The Record' Entrance (a handful of songs picked by DH...

Did you use an IPOD instead of a DJ/Band? How was it and would you recommend it?

we used an ipod setup and are so glad we did. We originally booked a DJ, but the price was SO high due to our wedding being during 'holiday' season. So, like previously mentioned, I too spent hours searching for and creating the perfect playlist for our 'mood'. It worked out great and everyone...
