    Live from okw day 2

We're looking to booking in November - anyone have any idea how the redecorating will go? Are they almost finished? We are 70 and 71, and kind of like the top floor with no one walking on our heads (My thing) but wanted to make sure plenty of 1 bedrooms will be available. We can always go...

    December crowds?

We are planning to go this year, in December. Any thoughts on which weeks would be LESS crowded - November 29-December 5 OR December 6-December12? Both fit in with our schedules, just like a little more room for a couple oldsters to meander...Love our Disney!!! :surfweb:

NY papers reporting possible swine flu in Disney

We have flu season every year, and people get sick, and we all take sensible precautions. I've never seen such panic with such little information! I agree with your sensible attitude. Just looking over my calendar to make reservations late fall. I'm going to Disney World!

From couch to: WDW Full in 2010

I have a goal too - turning 70 in august and joined W.W. 8 weks ago. Age and job doesn't help, I'm very sedentary as a receptionist at a law firm, but hope increasing my exercise will help. I'm trying to do the W. Watchers dvd's every few days, and also walk 1/2 hr on lunch. Glad to find...

WW Weekly Weigh In--- Part 2

:surfweb: I'm 69m and looking at 70 in August. A lot harder to lose at this age, and my job (receptionist at a law firm) is pretty sedentary. I've tried to do the w.w. tapes a few times a week and walk 1/2 hr at lunch. Still a slow go. In 7 weeks, I'm down 7 lbs, so I guess that's...

The Wilderness Lodge FAQ (Part 6) Simbas and Tiggers and Humphreys OH MY!

Thanks for all the info!! We're going in January and understand the weather can be a bit iffy. Planning on watching the weather online a few days before, and hope they get it right. Do you know if all the rooms have connectors? We're seniors that love Disney, go every year, but usually stay...

    Jan, Feb, May, or Nov

So glad to read that! We made reservations at Wilderness Lodge the last week of January. I've been hoping to hear that the weather is good - almost afraid to ask! Sweatshirts and light jackets I can live with, after all, we're going down from Michigan.

Dis Breast Cancer Survivors Part II -GAGWTA!

I got the okay to use the 'other' arm from my oncologist. 2 years ago I had a botched gall bladder surgery, got nicked, had to rush back to hospital, developed pneumonia, and was critical. They had such a hard time finding a vein, even had i.v.'s in my neck, and blood draws out of my ankle...

Dis Breast Cancer Survivors Part II -GAGWTA!

Sorry not to get back to you sooner. I completely understand how uneasy this makes you feel. No, if you have your chemo is your veins instead of a port, as we both did, your veins become 'tough' is how it was told to me. They almost disappear, and they can no longer use it for blood tests or...

Dis Breast Cancer Survivors Part II -GAGWTA!

Try not to worry. I had the adriamyacin and cytoxin mix. I was worried too, since I have mitral valve prolapse, but it didn't do any damage to my heart. It is true you will have fewer chemo treatments with these drugs, so that's the good part. I didn't have a port either, and won't kid you -...

1st week of November - weather & crowds?

I was there once in September - it was very hot and humid. I don't think I'd go back then. November, on the other hand, is perfect!! They do put some Christmas decorations out now in November, and it's beautiful. I know it's hard to take the kids out of school, but an hour a day of homework...

1st week of November - weather & crowds?

It's a great time! No big crowds, warm days (I agree, jackets at night for sure). Altho anytime is a good time at Disney, nice not to have to wait half an hour for Pirates! We're being brave this year, and going the last week of January. Hopefully, not too many layers of clothes. But again -...

    SSR Helpful Tips?

We have stayed a few times at SSR. I found the eating area around Artist's Palette to be small, and crowded. We often took our plates to the lounge by the bar, or even out on the veranda. The Turf Club is an excellent restaurant, we both enjoyed our evening meals there. Love the SSR. Very...

Not a DVC owner but staying at SSR

We aren't DVC owners, but love staying at SSR 1 bedroom. So relaxing. We've stayed in different building, different times of the year, and never had much of a problem with transporation. Also hitched a ride in a cart when we were returning from the boat launch - we looked confused about...
