I just won a FREE Trip! Need to pick a moderate.

We have been going to WDW every year since 1997, and stayed at all of the moderate resorts. Two things: Even if there is some referb work going on at a given resort it won't have a big negative impact. All of the resorts are awesome. Two: It's a free trip. Disney could put me in one of the...

I've decided to buy,now need to pick home resort!

I just want to add this additional point. In 13 years, 28 visits to WDW, we have never had to make a reservation more than 7 months out, so I really believe where you buy into as your home is irrelevant. As A DVC member you can stay at all of the DVC resorts. You can even stay at places like...

I've decided to buy,now need to pick home resort!

I agree with other who are saying the expiration date should not play much of a role in your decision. One thing that might offer some help is what your annual dues will be. Here is a link that shows what the dues for 2011 will be. Actually they are percentages based on the amount of points you...

    Not going to the parks?

We have been to WDW 28 times since 1997, and we have found that the idea of going there without visiting at least one park just kills the thrill of going. It's kinda like going on a cruise and then never leaving the ship to take advantage of the ports. IMO if you attempt a trip to WDW and make...

    8 nights/2 adults-3 kids/budget $800

We have been going to WDW since 1997 and one thing we have definitely learned is that attempting to make a rock solid schedule is nearly impossible, but you almost never stick to it even if you can. My suggestion would be to determine how much money you want to spend on food for the entire trip...

    Boardwalk v. Saratoga Springs

My two cents is that BW is superior to Saratoga. Each hotel has very cool things available however BW is part of what I call "the hub" in WDW. What I mean by that is BW has activity going on all day and late into the evenings actually down on the walk. The Boardwalk bakery is a must do, not just...

What do you think of Free Dining as a DVC member?

Anyone can stay anywhere as long as their is availability. That's sounds obvious however DVC members get first priority at DVC properties. IE, if a "non DVC" family makes a reservation at Old Key West (because there happens to be availability) but then a "DVC member" calls in wanting to make a...

What do you think of Free Dining as a DVC member?

I'm sure the free dining sounds like a great option (and for some it probably is). However, IMO the sacrifices you make to not use DVC to get free dining are simply not worth it. You give up a lot more than you gain.

So is it really prime rib on the Boma Buffet?

I am a big steak (meat) eater and I would say you need to try Boma if you haven't. They have prime rib, and many other items to satisfy any taste. I always over indulge on their PR because it is always correctly prepared. If you like yours a little more done just ask. Their chefs will be more...

Is the San Angel Inn Really That Bad?

We eat at SAI all of the time and have never had anything but a great experience and great food. That said, like so many other posts in this thread, rather than listen to me or anyone else, I think you need to experience it for yourself. That will be the only true test for you. How anyone else...

Sad News, but Disney once again proved to be awesome

I am very sorry to hear of your loss. There is never a good time for anything like that to happen, however it makes me feel good to know that Disney stepped up and showed that type of compassion in your time of need. It's one of the reasons we bought into DVC in the first place in 1997, take our...

Split Stay? Worth the hassle for a 7/6 trip?

We have done split stays on multiple occassions. We like them because it give you the advantage of being able to experience multiple resorts. One of the things that most people overlook is what the resorts have to offer. Each is very unique and all offer many fun and interesting things. It is...

    Best dinner at Hollywood Studios?

What a difficult question to answer. There are many factors you need to consider. Do you have kids? Do you want an adult atmosphere or something more interactive and fun. What is your budget? Do you want all you can eat? Are you looking for characters? We go WDW every year and, in my opinion...

    What would you do?

I find it very interesting the responses to this poll. Over 90% would take the money. Hmmmm......the interesting thing about that is compared to say, the all expenses 2 week vacation every year, the value of the $200k really doesn't stack up. If you assume costs at WDW will increase every year...

    What would you do?

Ah the beauty of polls. If only they were real....that said, in the spirit of good form I'll send you a check. It's gonna bounce higher than a kite though.

    Boardwalk View Floorplan?

We have been to The Boardwalk several times (it's my favorite resort). The GV's are all located near each other however the studios, 1 Bedroom & 2 Bedrooms are mixed up. I also do not know of any specific floor plan (public anyway) that shows exactly how the room are seperated. If this is your...

    What would you do?

If you could do/have one of the following, what would you choose? 1. Get annual all expenses paid trip for your family for 2 weeks to WDW/Disneyland? 2. Receive $200,000 dollars cash? 3. Be a cast member, get free access for yourself and immediate family? 4. Live your life as you do...

    I'm SOOOOOO Excited

There is nothing as great as the magic that Disney creates. I would just LOVE to be one of the cast members (selling balloons, souveniers, etc.) on Main Street USA in the Magic Kingdom. Seeing all the smiles on kids of all ages would be, in the words of Peter Pan "a truly excellent adventure"...
