Do number of points needed change during contract?

Yes, that is true. The one thing that can/has changed each year is the amount of dues you pay - now up to $800+ per year for our 200 points.

    Another Transferring POints Question

is there a thread that anyone knows of regarding transferring ownership of our Disney Vacation Club points to someone else? We have a close friend who wants our points, wants to purchase them I mean. We, of course, would like to avoid the 12% charge that the brokers charge. I couldn't find...

    It's Official, we're hotel snobs 4 sure

We also qualify. We stayed at Portafino Bay Hotel at Universal last year for two days inbetween Vero and Beach Club Villas on the weekend. If you've ever seen this hotel it is beautiful. The rooms are beautiful. But it's not Disney. Anyway, the kids walk in, ages 8, 8 and 10 and one...

Dr. Tomorrow..thanks for the perspective. I'm on the brink of starting a teaching career, so that will be my schedule soon as well. But anyway, I know that only God knows what the future holds....and there are other things going on....my DH's brother died this summer suddenly....which changes...

    do you ever regret buying

....not that I'm trying to be negative...just looking at the question/answers from all angles....most people who are reading and responding to these posts here are still members for whom the DVC HAS worked out for their situation; those who've decided to sell probably aren't still reading the...

    do you ever regret buying

Thanks for the input/advice. We did a "budget" trip this year, aside from the driving from NY! That I just can't justify....our last flights were 59$ each way, but yes, for 5 that adds up too. We only did two days in the park and a cheap trip to Sea World. We used a lot of the resort...

    do you ever regret buying

We have been enjoying our membership very much - until this year. Now that my children are 9,9, and 11, the choice of pulling them out of school for our Disney trip is no longer an option. We also have been reconsidering keeping our membership because of the cost of flights from NY -...

Adventureland in MK to open at 10 a.m. daily beginning Sunday

    >When the park is open it should be OPEN. Disney shouldn't be telling guests what they can do, it should be letting them choose what they want to do. Part of giving a guest more more more is the giving part. But Disney has always told guests what they can/should do.....keeping us in neat...

WDW Opened on This Day in 1971

I was 7 as well, but didn't go that year. Went with Mom and Dad soon after. I don't remember as vividly as you - but do remember just waiting in line to hug the characters, no autographs. Much nicer I think. Also remember going to Wiki Watchi....(sp?) and seeing the underwater...
