Anyone going in the August heat?

Get a Camelbak and fill it up with as much ice as it will hold, then add water. Not only do you have icewater all day long, but it keeps your back nice and cold!

    Fear of heights

There are a couple of parts where you fly over some trees and they end suddenly, so it feels like you're dropping a little bit then. Otherwise it's very gentle.

    Fear of heights

I had a really hard time on Goofy's Barnstormer. :scared: I'm the kind of person who gets dizzy standing on a step stool changing a lightbulb and I loved Soarin'.

    Barnstormer or No Barnstormer..

Yeah, same with my two daughters. We went on it our first night after 1100 miles of driving, and it was around their usual bedtime, AND the loud fireworks were going off (could I have done any more to traumatize my children, I wonder). They didn't like it, I didn't like it, and DH didn't like...

Floorplan for CR 14th floor standard?

Thanks, Minnie - I've actually seen that one. I think I should have said "Room layout" instead of floor plan. :) I do wonder where that 14th floor plan came from. It's interesting to see the room numbers associated with the booking codes!

Floorplan for CR 14th floor standard?

I think the novelty of the visiting birds will wear RIGHT off. Blech. Good to know there are two bathroom areas; that was going to be something I really missed from VWL.

Floorplan for CR 14th floor standard?

Thanks, Piglet! Great information. That's exactly the room I'm hoping for. :) BTW, were there two sinks?

Floorplan for CR 14th floor standard?

Anyone have a floorplan for a 14th floor tower club standard (preferably with 2 beds)? I've seen some pics but can't figure out if there's a bath tub or not. Also, it looks like these rooms don't have the same furnishings (i.e. build-in TV cabinet) that some of the other rooms do, or didn't...

Why is the Contemporary so full in August?

Try calling them on the phone. I did this afternoon and they found availability for me that was not listed on the web site.

Why is the Contemporary so full in August?

Ah hah! Since I was flexible on my dates, I found a tower room open late July/early August. We're booked! :woohoo:

Why is the Contemporary so full in August?

Why am I having so many problems finding an open room August 10+? Is it because it's more than 6 months away? Because the north wing is gone? Because it's going to be really crowded then (I hope not!)? There are no tower rooms showing up online, and now I'm not seeing any garden wing rooms...

Monorail resort with separate sleeping area?

Does the monorail run to Ft. Wilderness?

Monorail resort with separate sleeping area?

Nooooooooooooooooo! :scared1: :sad1: ETA: My goal is to find someplace where Mommy & Daddy can put the kiddos to bed and be able to watch TV and stuff and not wake them up. It's not so much the number of beds but more having separate areas that I'm after.

Monorail resort with separate sleeping area?

I just did a ton of searching about this after your post and apparently there's a website that has a one bedroom suite incorrectly labeled as a deluxe garden room. Too bad, too, because that room looked really nice.

Monorail resort with separate sleeping area?

Now that is nice to know! Thanks! :goodvibes

Monorail resort with separate sleeping area?

We stayed at the VWL last summer and it was just HEAVENLY. I adored it. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat, but my husband (the man who was vehemently opposed to going to Disney World EVAR) has declared that we simply must stay at a monorail resort this year when we go back. I...

Monorail resort with separate sleeping area?

What's the least expensive option if I want a monorail resort that has two separate sleeping areas? If the answer is to get two rooms: is there a definitive answer on whether they will guarantee connecting rooms for 2 adults and two kids (8 and 6)?

I want the monorail AND a villa!

What's the construction looking like at the CR? I don't guess it'll be completed by this summer, will it? :lmao:

I want the monorail AND a villa!

We stayed at the VWL last summer and really loved the room. The extra space, the separate place for the kids to sleep, the big fridge, the washer and dryer, the closets, the tub, and on and on. I think what was most important to us was having a separate bedroom from the kids. The only...

    Just Back Hot and Crowded

We were there 8/12 to 8/21 and the absolute best thing in the WORLD is having a Camelbak. I would fill mine up with as much ice as would fit, then the rest of the way with water. Not only do you have a cold drink ready all the time, the ice in the pack keeps your back nice and cool. And the...
