2010 Yacht and Beach Club FAQ, Part II---Inactive Thread--- Please do not post here!

Hey Everyone! I have gotten so tired of this winter that I booked a 4-day weekend at BC starting Friday (4th). I'm usually one of those overplanners that books everything 18 months early, so it's very unusual for me to book something ten days away. We're actually seated separately on a...

Ideas on Best Resort at Christmas

We stayed at Disney's Beach Club Resort last year and loved the gingerbread carousel as well as the Christmas village train set at the Yacht Club.

New blog: Adventures by Disney in Australia 8/31/09

Have you checked this out? I saw it at the top of the DIS Site Updates. This guy is too funny . :rotfl2: I've always been interested in Australia as well as Disney Adventures, so the two together sounds awesome (though expensive). I look forward to reading more...

Discuss what Disney is doing wrong part II

I would love for the Disney resorts to provide a television channel for classic Disney cartoon shorts..... Donald Duck, Goofy, Chip & Dale, Mickey. There are so many that we haven't seen since childhood. Obviously the goal of any vacation is not to spend all your time in your room. But...

    2009 Christmas Decor

We stayed at the Beach Club Resort the week before Thanksgiving last year. They had many decorations up when we arrived and completed the gingerbread carousel while we were there. We saw decorations going up at all the parks during that week. Well....you don't actually see them going up, they...

If I EVER do a Dining Review

If we're going to start listing pet peeves, my biggest is when people say they "could care less" when they really mean they "couldn't care less". It drives me crazy

    Backstage Magic Tour

About half the people in our group decided to stay at MK but were required to give their ticket/card to the tour guide and she went off to have the park entry processed while we waited as a group. Then half went back to the bus and the rest went on their way at MK.

what ride have you gotten stuck on???

We had almost the same thing happen to us. I remember that creepy ventriloquist dummy next to me. It was like being frozen in a horror movie! Our elevator sat there for about 15 or 20 minutes then it moved backwards into a backstage area where you could see empty elevators sitting there in a...

How do you "pay" in the parks?

I learned to carry a little bit of cash along with the KTTW. Early in our last visit I only had a few dollars with me and stopped to buy a funnel cake at a kiosk that doesn't accept KTTW or credit. When I explained that I couldn't get one because I didn't have enough cash with me, they gave me...

    Epcot Segway Around The World

I think it was 8:30 but I'd have to look back through our Disney stuff to check the exact time. I know it was before Epcot opened. We walked up to the International Gateway about 15 or 20 minutes before the tour and told them we had a tour. They checked a list, found our names, and let us...

    Epcot Segway Around The World

We had an early tour before park opening and were the only two people in the tour. Two guides and the two of us. We loved it. We were staying at the Beach Club and walked through the International Gateway (they check your name on a list and let you in).

    Greatest Gay and Lesbian movies?

I won't repeat my favorites that have already been mentioned, some several times. One that I don't think has been listed here is Touch of Pink (for those of you who like movie classics and Cary Grant).

Tower of Terror for a scaredy cat?

My earlier question was not implying that I don't want to ride. I can't wait to go on TOT. However, my partner can't stand 'that feeling in your stomach' when you're getting air-time on a ride or driving over a small hill quickly (you know what I mean--personally, I think that's the best part)...

Tower of Terror for a scaredy cat?

I read somewhere that there is an exit for people who 'chicken out' at the last minute. They go through the line but avoid the actual ride. Is this worth doing for someone who knows they don't want to do the drop? (not sure if the pre-ride experience is worth it) Thanks!

    Techie sort of question

I would guess that the load time is mostly determined by the file size which is based on the length and resolution of the video. I can't think of any way to speed it up. :surfweb:

Do you purchase trip insurance when booking your Disney vacation?

We use frequent flier miles (acquired as a VISA benefit) to cover airfare for most of our vacations. So that aspect doesn't really apply for us. Many people don't even bother checking on cancellation fees to see if it's cheaper to skip the insurance. If you don't get it and don't have any...

Do you purchase trip insurance when booking your Disney vacation?

Since the Disney cancellation fees are comparable or lower than the price of insurance (depending on coverage), I didn't see much point to it for our Disney trip. For other vacations such as cruises, we always get it.
