High Tea at the Grand Floridian

I would echo what PPs say...this is a lot of fun. It's also a unique experience across WDW - there are no other tea rooms. I happen to love the English trifle for dessert, but DH and I have always been pleased with all of the food and tea. We tried the cheese plate for the first time last...

Thinking about flying SW with 3 children-Help

Haha! I like that. Check us in, or no suvenier for you! Or the web-enabled cell. We'd have to not still be in the Stone Ages with our old cell phones though. Thanks for the suggestions!!

Thinking about flying SW with 3 children-Help

I've never flown SW and I definitely understand the advice on this thread about being at your computer 24 hrs ahead to get the "A" boarding pass...but I have a question. On the way to WDW, that makes sense. On your way HOME from WDW...how are you getting an "A"? Going to the checkin/checkout...

Epcot for dinner, Where would you eat?

Experiences are hit-or-miss of course, but prices aren't ;-) DH and I thought Tutto was overpriced for Italian food. We had a great family experience in 2008 with folks and sibs at Coral Reef, and have always had a good experience just the 2 of us at Chefs. Wherever you decide, enjoy!

SSR main pool closed in March?

Not to bring up a sore spot with everyone...but has anyone heard of refurbs on the Grandstand pool? Just wondering if they were going to do all pools at SSR this year or not...since Grandstand is newer than High Rock Springs and the Congress Park pool. TIA! :)

    At SSR Now

Hey Kenny - hope you keep enjoying your trip. We're headed to SSR in December and love it there. Have you heard anything about when the quiet pools/Granstand will be closed for refurbishment? Thanks and enjoy the World : )

DTD Guest Relations Re-Hab thru 2/14

Thank you for posting this! We're headed down very soon and were planning on stopping at the DTD Guest Relations to pick up our Tables in Wonderland card. Can they take care of that at the former PI ticket booth, too?

Worried about noise level: Quietest restaurants on property?

Probably our biggest disappointment as far as noise goes was Narcoossee's. It wasn't even obnoxious kids, I think it was just the general sound carrying in that dining room. (Food, however, at Narcoossee's was excellent!) Thinking about our quietest dining experiences, I immediately thought...

    Management Contact Info Needed OKW

I'm sorry to hear you had such a bad room! We're heading to OKW in late January...and I was trying to think of what we'd do in that situation. Something tells me letters would be the least of it. ;) I think DH would've been at the front desk asking for another room...yes I know OKW was...

    Adults....which rides/shows to skip?

DH and I skip Dumbo and the Magic Carpets...not necessarily because they're "kiddie" rides, but b/c we'd be sick with that going round and round and round :) Also, we skip Stitch. I don't think I need to comment on why. lol.

Fantasmic - is it a MUST do?

Fantasmic a must-do for us, I think it's the best nighttime show in WDW! I don't recommend the dinner package, however. IMO, the "reserved" seats aren't worth it. Especially in January when crowds will be lower than say, July. Have fun!

    socerer mickey

On Mickey Avenue in DHS there's a Mickey Meet 'n great. In 2006 he was dressed as sorcerer Mickey, although, I've also seen him there as Steamboat Willy. I can't vouch for anything more recent than '06 though.

Is Fantasmic Lame? Give it to me straight...

What does Disney do better than anyone else? Tell a story that reaches people. IMHO, that's what Fantasmic does....with Mickey as the protagonist in this production, we find it a great way to end all of our trips. It's our "last day" tradition. Hope you enjoy it, if you give it a try! :)

    Fake Names

At F&WF last year, DH and I ran into a CM in one of the food booths whose tag said Megan with 'Pittsburgh' underneath it. Well, we're from Pittsburgh, and mentioned that to "Megan." Being friendly, we told her what section of the city we were from, and asked what part of Pittsburgh she was...

    Car rental questions

I'd like to hear the same :) We have always used Alamo without any problems. And, I guess we just stick with what we know. HOWEVER, I can't get the price below $400 for a midsize for 10 days...when last year we paid $189 for the same car class, the same amount of days. So...I'm willing...

The 4 Food Groups of Disney World

Cute thread :) Sweet - Baklava in Morocco (next to the Tangerine Cafe) Salty - Cheese Soup in Canada (Le Cellier) Frozen - Cookie dough ice cream (ice cream shop on Main Street in MK) and Fried. - Fries at Casey's (something about the fries and Casey's hot dog combo makes them extra good!)
