Which water park for little ones?

Yep, agree Blizzard offers best facilities for little'uns in the Disney parks. However, Aquatica would be my recommendation as the kids park there is just awesome. Good options for adults to set up and keep and eye too.

    philadelphia airport

Never done Phillie but gone a number of times indirect via Dallas, Twin Cities, & Detroit. Always been lucky with transfers and saved considerably on tickets. Would do it again no problem. However, must say watching the Virgin atlantic *direct* boarding at Orlando I'd be lying if we weren't...

Describe an unexpected great day in Orlando, an unplanned gem you have found.

I'd suggest a walk around Celebration. A beautiful and relaxing place walking around the lakes. You can hire bikes, have a meal, see some wildlife, fastastic houses. Its a relaxing place and almost another park in itself, although more realistic - no false plywood buildings here. Tezza

which drop is worse--Jurassic park river ride or Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls?

Dudleys there's nowhere to hide, plus the quarter squirts may get you if there's someone sadistic enough waiting. Jurrasic was much less of a buzz but then we weren't in the front row (and they did get wet). DDR in 2008...

    Easter 2009 spot-the-state-plate competition results

If your staying off-site and doing frequent trips around the parks - especially at Spring Break - its a great idea to keep the kids occupied. At Easter I guess there are more folk driving down from the North (Snowbirds). Maybe less out-of-state plates during the summer. Anyway it gets...

Favorite attraction at US? At IOA?

    Easter 2009 spot-the-state-plate competition results

Aah, thanks for the correction. Is there such a thing as a Washington DC plate ? We've never seen Guam, PR or Hawaii in our visits. Maybe next time.... Cheers

    Easter 2009 spot-the-state-plate competition results

Ok, we had 18 days this year so more time to get them all. In the end we missed three: Idaho Montana Hawaii We didn't count the disabled buggy at Celebration which was sporting a Hawaii front plate. The tough ones this year (maybe timing of Spring break ?) were Alaska (not unusual)...

    Spiderman

Well it simulates a drop, The car will tilt forward and the walls move (imax sim ?) giving the impression of falling. Its very well done and feels quite realistic. If you keep the simulation in mind then you'll be OK. I guess its a great example of how technology and ingenuity can come...

    A hidden gem at IoA

Ok the good ship SS Olive is really reserved for kids, but its great fun to squirt the poor souls below on Popey & Bluto's Bildge Rat Barges. Rachel having fun. Plus you dont have to feel guilty about gettig folk wet as just around the corner... Cheers

Favorite attraction at US? At IOA?

Well I'd definitely agree with the Mummy for Universal. Strange though not many votes for the Hulk at IoA. Get there early, run for the Hulk and do the front row (left lane at the top of the spiral queue). If you haven't ridden Hulk before that take-off from the front row is simply...

    Spiderman

Its a simulator, but the car moves along a track as well. Its very clever and well choriographed. For me, doesn't quite match the Mummy in Universal which *is* an indoor themed coaster. Cheers

    Planning advice sought

Just returned (today !) from Terra Verde, second year running we've stayed there. No problem getting to the parks (approx 20 minutes to Disney/Universal). TV is a very nice gated resort with clubhouse and some big villas (we had a party of 9 last year, just 4 this Easter). We've also stayed...

    NorthWest Rant!!

Just return today flying NWA out via Detroit (that same 9am flight) and back via the Twin Cities. Transfers both out and back was a doddle. We did notice a number of split families boarding but the desk and crew worked really hard to get everything sorted on the plane. Guess this can be...

    Booked out villa!

We stayed at Terra Verde last year and really enjoyed it. We're going back there again this Easter... Just under four weeks to go. :)

Wet n Wild or Aquatica?? Help me decide!

Dont miss the Aquatica "lazy" river. We had sunbeds by the entrance. Watching everyone diligently putting on lifejackets for a lazy river, soooo wussy. Then we decided to have a go and found out why . Hanging on to the persons jacket in front part of a train of 10 was a scream and the river...

    Driving in Orlando

That's good advice, tell your left foot to take a holiday :) I found driving in Florida very relaxing and easy on the major roads. Needs more concentration on minor roads and its easy at first to stray the wrong side especially at junctions. In all though I enjoy the experience and its not...

Wet n Wild or Aquatica?? Help me decide!

For kids of the ages specified I'd go for Wet'n Wild. Aquatica's toddlers/kids park is awesome, but the rest of the rides for older kids are so-so. Wet'n Wild has got an excellent range of rides to keep teenagers happy. Its mostly concrete though, not much of a theme. Cheers Tezza
