Has anyone been to the parks recently and NOT used Genie+?

We just returned. We were there from the 10/30-11/4 and never used Genie, Genie + or individual LL. We did stay onsite and took advantage of early entry. On 10/30 we went to DHS, it was listed as a 5 by Touringplans. Got there about 7:50 and immediately entered the park. Walked to RnR and...

    Test Track or Soarin’?

Personally, I am with the Soarin' crowd. We use the single rider line for TT. Also TT has a tendency to go down much more often (weather, mechanical, etc.) so I figure why lose a FP because it's not running.

Should we get our luggage ourselves even though we're using DME?

I personally have never had DME deliver my bags for the following reasons: 1) Short trip with only carry-on; 2) Arrived in the evening and want my bag with me before i go to sleep; 3) I'm a control freak who always wants to know that I've got my sh** with me.

If you REALLY want to ride Test Track

This is why I will always choose a Soarin' FP over a Test Track FP. We just SR TT in the morning.

4th FP+ Availability over Memorial Day

We were there the 19-25th. No problem at MK getting 4th and 5th FP+ early in the week but the crowds were low. We didn't really plan anything for Sunday, we were just going to wing it. Not good for FP+ selections. We went to DHS and rode ToT twice, Star Tours and Muppet 3D without any waits...

    Mine Train

+1, I'm with you on this, after all the hype I found it very short and underwhelming. It was incredibly smooth, however. Also the swinging cars added an interesting element to the ride

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train FP+ Opening

We were there early on the 24 hour day and got a chance to ride. Posted 60 minutes with the line extending a deal ways out of the queue but it moved quickly without any FP+ available. I'm 6'-4" and had no problem with the fit in the seat. My initial reaction to the ride is that the speed...

    6 am 7dmt

We got in line at 9:00am. Posted wait time was 60, actually about 45. The rocking cars were interesting, otherwise I was a bit disappointed. Incredibly smooth, ridiculously short.

Just CM testing with families now.

    SDMT Soft Opening Lookout Post

I'm hoping it will be open for the 24hr party but I hope they don't wait until the evening to do so. My plan is to hit it early before it is a zoo.

    Living on the SW edge!

We fly out of Midway also. I always check-in at the 24 hour mark and we have no problem finding 3 seats together.

    Living on the SW edge!

Your OK saving the $25 for EBCI. With the little one you should be able to take advantage of Family Boarding and board between the A & B group. You will have no problem being seated together.

Does anyone prefer Disney transportation over a rental car?

My personal feeling is the only thing the car adds is a known travel time. By the time I drive, park, walk/tram to the gate I figure I'm not saving a lot of time on average. Sure there are times when I've waited for the bus and driving would have been faster, but there are also plenty of times...

    SW early bird checkin?

I agree that getting "A" passes is harder to a route like Orlando partly because of the perception that you need EBCI to get an "A" and that you screwed if you have a "B". Also because I originate in Chicago many people are connecting there that have the ability to check-in on the flight before...

    SW early bird checkin?

The only time I have paid for EBCI was when I was on a cruise and checking in at or near the 24 hour mark was not going to be easy. Unfortunately, it did not work for some reason and when I went to check later to see what positions we had we were B50's. Even with that the three of us were able...

    Magical Express

We do this all the time as we tend to fly in late in the evening. It really depends on your airline. The last few times we were on United through MCO the bags came out as soon as we got to the baggage claim. Last time on Southwest it was pretty fast, less than 10 minutes. Previous experience...

    Expedition Everest Line

We were there on the 18th of March, a date that was actually a 9 according to touring plans post analysis and the line for EE were just normal when we were by it. We rode three times, once first thing, once single rider and once FP+. The only line we saw outside the FP entrance was on...

FP+ Long Line - how long was your wait?

We were just there last week and I detailed it all here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3255085 The second post explains it but the short answer is with the exception of Kilimanjaro Safaris pretty much all out FP+ experiences were no different that with FP-. We were in the Buzz...

A "Power User" and Their MB & FP+ Experience

One MB thing I forgot to mention which seemed counter intuitive. In order to receive the AP discount at stores and such you had to actually show them your AP. Why can't they just scan you MB to determine you are an AP holder?

A "Power User" and Their MB & FP+ Experience

Conclusions This was probably what I would consider early spring break time. We have been on spring break before and I would say that while the parks were crowded, they were probably not “spring break” crowded. We used the MB’s for all their intended purposes and had no issues. From a...
