    Camera stolen while onboard

Well, if its any consolation, sharing your loss sounds like it is going to help a lot of people avoid the same given the responses posted to this thread. It doesn't make up for having your camera stolen, but it is helping others plan for such a loss.

I would just like to say....

I had a similar experience with our precruise stay at WDW. Even though the room we had was in the nonrefundable period as was the package we booked, Disney refunded the full amount minus a $50 change fee which probably would have been waived had we cancelled all together.

    Camera stolen while onboard

I'm sorry to hear about the theft especially given that I was on the same cruise and at WDW at the same time as you. While I can't replace your lost memories, I'd be happy to share pictures of WDW and the ship since we were both on the same sailing.

    Comment card input?

Get the strollers out of the hallways; they're narrow enough as they are especially when the housekeeping carts are out. We had a stroller with us, but collapsed it and kept it under the bed as we've done in our prior seven cruises with DS.

Sit down lunches and dinner on fantasy

We never made it to a sit down lunch on the Fantasy a couple of weeks ago. However, past experience is that the menu changes daily as do the offerings in the buffets usually around a them (e.g., Italian, seafood, etc.).

First Trip and a Few More Questions

Your port arrival time is meaningless if you're using DCL transportation. At the resort, you'll receive a letter the day before indicating your pickup time, which can be anywhere between 10:30-1:00 depending on the resort. They'll tell you precisely when and where to meet and ask that you arrive...

Lunch on Our Own in Juneau?

I thought the crab legs were overpriced; however, it is convenient to the dock and the tram and had the best bisque I've ever had. I wasn't disappointed with the food; I just didn't find value in the price of the crab legs.

1/26 Fantasy cruise - what movies

A couple of weeks ago the biggies were Lincoln, Wreck it Ralph, The Avengers, People Like Us, Monsters Inc. 3D among others I can't remember. There are also dozens of movies available on demand in your stateroom which include recent and nonDisney choices.

Question about ruin excursions on Fantasy

I did Tulum many years ago and the one in Costa Maya with Disney just a couple of weeks ago. I personally would opt for Costa Maya just out of convenience. Tulum is beautiful, but you'll spend most of your time just getting there and back. The ferry ride itself isn't too bad, but can be a bit...

    Food in Kids Oceaneer Club/Lab

The CM serves up the food for the kids based on what they say they want. However, they also made it clear that while food is available, thy don't ensure that the kids eat. An announcement is made and it is up to the kids to stop playing and to go eat. This month on the Fantasy the food was...

    Mickey Bars on Fantasy Eastern?

You can order them in the dining room too. However they usually serve them with chocolate syrup and Mickey shaped colored sprinkles, so specify how you want it in th dining room if you don't want the syrup or sprinkles.

Are they still doing a THIRD showtime during the day?

They had matinees of the shows at 3 pm on sea days when we were on the fantasy. This may be the reason why you didn have them on the Dream. Could also be related to the number of performances they have to do on the shorter cruises with more repeated shows across the two sailings.

    How Much Are Tastings?

We booked at Guest Services on the Fantasy. If they're sold out, I'd recommend showing up at the tasting anyway to see if you can be added as we had a few no shows at ours, so those who wondered in were invited to participate for the fee.

Requesting a table by ourselves on the Fantasy

We had our TA request it and ended up at a table of four for the three of us. On half the nights, DS opted for dinner in the club, so it became a table for two. Very relaxing and also expedited the dinner process. We were usually done in just over an hour start to finish including dessert and...

    Insurance Question

Note that DCL insurance will only cover the cruise. I just returned from the Fantasy and we had a WDW trip planned before the cruise. Less than 12 hours before we were to depart, I had I have my appendix removed. Still made the trip and the airline and WDW were generous with the refunds, but the...

    Please clarify onboard booking

We were able to book two with the perks by booking one under my name and one under my wife's name.

    How Much Are Tastings?

All of the tastings I've done have been $15. The best one to date was the mixology class as you pour/make your own drinks. It was more fun and a better value than the other tastings in my opinion.

Is there a cruise book tgat you think is better than the others?

I'd agree with the others; Passporter is probably the best. They also give a run down of the excursions and ratings of them.

    Is a 16" x 20" photo mat too big

Keep in mind that the photos they sell on the ship are usually 8x10 and 6x8 if memory serves. Thus, it will be fine for matting your own prints, but not those purchased on the ship. Walmart sells a signature mat that size with an 8x10 opening for about $6, which is another option.

Cruise secrets that DCL doesn't tell you

I've read that the Sharpies fade more than those permanent markers specifically made for fabric FWIW. Hence, we went with fabric markers last cruise but are going with Sharpies this cruise as we're having a photo mat signed.
