I stayed at the GCH from Aug 28- Sep 2/2010 and had a 40% discount. The discount period started around Aug 20, IIRC.

They don't expire within the day. We used fastpasses that were at 8:45am at 8:00pm because we wanted to ride at night.

I don't think you will be disappointed. We were there last week. Rooms are big, my kids loved the pool and EMH was so good. We rode TS three times after RSR with no wait at all.

I am in LA right now staying next door to the Hilton at Universal. Our flight also leaves at 7. Pretty convenient location for Universal, Hollywood, etc. We had a nice dinner last night at Citywalk. Rope drop at universal today and sightseeing later.

You can line up before 8. It is beyond rope drop for non EMHers. But distribution doesn't start till 8. We lined up around 7:30 today and got passes at 8:02. Rerun time 8:45.

We were originally booked offsite but I cut the budget elsewhere to switch to the DLH. FWIW - if you are at DCA for rope drop you will likely get a FP for RSR. We lined up for FP's after 8 and got them with a return time of 3:30. And we got surprise FPs for GRR which we are going to use in a bit.

We did this today, and we werewe're 3rd & 4th in line. In the 1st car. Bad thing that our racing car was empty. We got to the main gates at about 6:50 and the line was about 20-25 people deep.
