A Warning About ASMo Room Locations

The noise is so penetrating (meant to be heard over the noise of other machinery, etc.) that it is banned in my city during certain hours of the night. I don't think it at all unreasonable for Disney to do something about it. At 2am the assumption should be that every guest in a room exposed...

    Boy do I need help!

Can you and neice get cracking early, then hook up with your brother later on? If you get there at opening, esp. at the extra hour of magic, you and your neice can get several hours of fun in, then meet your brother for lunch at 11 or 12. If the parks will be open later when you are there, you...

First trip without the diaper bag - WOOHOO!

Before our last trip, I measured my 3.5 yo several times with and without various sandals and tennis shoes. She was exactly 39.5 inches in her tennis shoes. At WDW, just out of interest, we measured her at Splash Mountain. She lacked at least 2 inches according to their measuring stick. In other...

    Help with Grump Grandaddy

As the planner of this trip for many people, you are living proof that no good deed goes unpunished. I once planned a big family trip for the beach, and it rained the whole time we were there. I felt like the rain was my fault. I felt like I'd wasted everyone's money by picking the one week it...

    Annual Pass 101...

Some may buy their APs early to freeze the rate. The 1-year countdown won't start until the passes are activated at the park. We bought ours in a shop in the Wyndham Palace Resort, a DTD hotel, so I'm assuming that other affiliated hotels would have them available. Of course your best best is...

    Wyndham Palace

I just got back from a 4-night stay at Wyndham Palace. I got it on Priceline for $60 per night. Honestly, I wasn't that impressed with it. I guess I got my money's worth, but I kept thinking how disappointed I'd have been if I'd paid any more than that. Service there was mediocre. One day...

Teacups make me woozy, Body Wars makes me queasy - any chance I can manage M:S?

I had the chance to "experience" Mission Space. Generally I don't generally have a problem with dizzyness like in the Teacups, and I really enjoy the simulators like Star Tours. For me, MS was completely different from either of those rides. I did get an uncomfortable feeling being caged in...

Will anyone just back or still there give me a quick report?

We are leaving Friday for a quick trip (I'm mixing business with pleasure, ):Pinkbounc I'm taking two of my kids who have no clue they are going and my teen, who knew the other two were going but just found out she gets to come too. Can anyone give me an idea of how the weather is? And the...

Preparing 2.5 yr old for security procedures

We had a very traumatic event during a screening of my family of 6 about a year ago. Not unlike NotUrsula's experience. Since the feds took over screening (private companies used to do it) I have noticed a major improvement in the way all people, including families, are handled. We recently took...

How do you book the Character Ice Cream Social?

I am thinking about doing the Ice Cream Social with my kids. My son is 8, and i don't mind paying for him and myself, but my daughter is a young 3. Frankly, we could all share 1 dessert and still have plenty left over. I also don't mind paying a stipend for the "entertainment costs" of seeing...

Has anyone ever used the Child Care Services at Disney???

I read about Kindercare on Deb Wills' site www.wdwig.com. The site says, "KinderCare provides daycare for the children of Disney castmembers. On weekends and some evenings they may have space to provide care for Walt Disney World guests. Call (407) 827-5437 for availability." I am going to be...

    Light necklaces

You will thank yourself for buying these ahead of time. On our last trip, I bought a big canister of them from Oriental Trading Company. They were much cheaper and significantly reduced the begging factor when we were at the parks at night. Plus, it helped us keep an eye on our kids in the dark...

Attractions becoming movies-What do you think?

That is an example of how things can go horribly wrong. I have to confess I didn't see the movie, and line grinningghost, there is a reason for that. In my case, the commericals that came out were so offense regarding adoption, and we were in the process of adopting two darlings.

Attractions becoming movies-What do you think?

Another thread prompted this post. We saw POTC last night and everyone loved it. We have been looking forward to it for weeks. During the previews, we saw a Haunted Mansion movie is coming out starring Eddie Murphy. This is our favorite attraction at WDW, and all the way home from seeing...

Why is Pirates of the Caribbean (movie) rated PG-13?

We saw POTC movie last night and it was great, but would be very intense for a young child. My son is 8 (going on 16) and enjoys "age-appropriate scary." He loved the movie, but traded seats with his older sister about half-way through to sit next to me. ;) The movie was pretty low-key In terms...
