Chef Art Smith's Homecomin or Boma?

I’d pick Homecomin’. With the sleeve, your wife could order smaller portions to suit her needs. I’d bet that one of those chicken biscuits for her, leaving 3 for you with maybe another side or app to nibble would make a great meal. I’m a southern girl and Homecomin’ is the real deal.

(tentative) QS and TS selection for our first trip.

As a diabetic, I can make most any restaurant work but some are easier than others. Biergarten is a great choice for low carb. Lots of meats and those amazing salads! The tomato salad is so good, I got the recipe and make it at home. ‘Ohana is terrific but I have to avoid the bread and desert...

    World Showcase Dining Suggestions

Best value IMO: Akershus Dinner Biergarten, I think lunch is now the same menu and price

    World Showcase table service help

We love Tokyo Dining. The quiet atmosphere, the beautiful presentation of the food, and the ability to get ADRs without planning months in advance make it one of my favorites.

Where is your 'First Night Dinner' and why?

We don't really have a tradition because I am a proponent for eating wherever is most convenient to where you're touring or staying. If we are staying deluxe, we try to book that first night at one of our resort's restaurants so that we can relax and enjoy what our resort has to offer. Here's...

25th wedding anniversary dinner for two?

My first choice would be Victoria & Albert's, followed by Cali Grill (sit in the wine room if possible. I find it to be more quiet. You can move outside on the balcony when it is time for fireworks.) If you're staying at the Poly, the 'Ohana Twilight Feast through room service would be a...

    Favorite Epcot TS for lunch?

It is so good to hear positive reviews of Nine Dragons, and I've heard more than just a few as of late! I hope that this place is turning around!

    Favorite Epcot TS for lunch?

I was just going to say the same thing! Remember the salmon, spinach, and potato lunch entree? It was delightful, not heavy at all.

Which is better Teppan Edo or Tokyo Diner?

I've eaten at both, enjoy both. I would prefer to eat at Tokyo Dining most times. It is quiet and has a calm atmosphere. The food is very visually appealing and tasty, too. After a hectic day in the parks, TD is just what I need. TE is great for celebrations and for entertainment during...

Best Dessert and View for Illuminations

We like to get a glass of champagne and something sweet from the French Bakery and watch from the bridge.

CG Brunch or GF Cafe Breakfast

Since you're planning on touring afterwards, I would chose the GF Cafe and have something relatively light.

    California Grill- seated on time?

I agree with the PP. Arrive early, have a drink and/or an app in the lounge or at the sushi bar.

    Arrival night dinner, Boardwalk area?

I know this sounds kind of nuts, but we love the Boardwalk to Go Kiosk. It is close to the Boardwalk Bakery and has outdoor seating nearby. The food is simple and inexpensive: BBQ sandwiches, fried Mac and Cheese Bites, etc. Boardwalk Joe’s is right besideif you want an adult beverage, and you...

    Real eggs?

When I was last at the Pop in October, I venture to guess that the eggs were the powdered kind.

    Interesting Experiences, Part II

I recommend Morimoto for lunch. We had an inexpensive meal there, we all had various Ramen noodle soups. It is a very beautiful atmosphere.

    Free dining and difficult ADRs?

With FD as a factor, I agree with the others that have said you’ll be fine as long as you make your ADRs at your first opportunity. I wouldn’t wait.

Am I crazy, I cancelled all of our ADRs for our upcoming trip?

You are not crazy at all! The FREEDOM of having no ADRs is wonderful. Some tips: Bars and lounges are great for a quick bite and a beverage or two, often with zero wait and terrific food especially if they are tied to a signature restaurant. We have never been turned away or had to wait more...

    Jiko Question

We have been to Jiko several times for bevs and apps and prefer to sit in the bar. No ADRs, no stress, and we’ve never even had to wait. The wine list is impressive and features South African wines. We really enjoy the Taste of Africa, Jiko’s version of the bread and dips platter. The...

2-day cancellation for Candlelight Processional Package

Seems like I remember reading that the ADR must be cancelled 48 hours prior. I don’t know how picky they are about exact timing. As the PP states, I too have cancelled the day before within the 24 hour window and haven’t had a problem with traditional ADRs.

    Large groups

I've gone with bigger groups several times. My group of 23 was like herding cats! We had a great meal at 'Ohana at one incredibly long table, it was the happy family you'd see on a commercial. A couple other meals weren't as successful because some of my group didn't seem to grasp the concept of...
