    We're NOT doing MNSSHP

We're going to be ther 10/24-10/31 and are not going. I just can't see spending the money on it to be honest. Plus, dd10 is not a night owl, and will voluntarily go to bed at 9pm even on weekends. If she is up late, she can be awfully cranky the next day. She doesn't know how to sleep in. We...

MNSSHP - can't decide if we should attend - HELP!

We had the same problem making the decision about it and opted not to. Personally, I think it would be fun, but my oldest daughter is the kind of kid that likes her sleep. At age 10, she still often is in bed by 8:30-9:00 (her choice) even on weekends. It's just the way she is. If she is up...

6 day one park pass or Park Hopper?

We usually don't park hop, but this time chose to do so. We got them because we have free dining. Having never done the DP on a trip before, we found that it was easier to plan the TS at the places we wanted while always being at one of the lesser crowsed parks for the day. Plus we love Epcot...

    Anniversary night suggestions.. Help!

I vote for World Showcase. If you'd like piano bars, Jellyrolls on the boardwalk is lots of fun with its dueling pianos. It is more of a bar scene, but a great time!!!

Chase Visa card perks at the parks

Yes, you need your VISA card. Last time we went (though this was in 2008) we got to meet Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto. I loved the free picure. If I'm not mistaken, you can add some of the little date stamps/personalizations as well. I don't recall paying for the additional items beyond...

Do you save on the Dining plan?

I haven't done the DDP yet, but like others said, it really depends on the family. We planned three TS dinners (Chef Mickey, Sci-fi theatre and Whispering Canyon) and then ate counter service the rest of the week. It worked great! If you plan ahead a little, you can easily find enough variety at...

    Ever been "upgraded"?

Back in 2008 we received an upgrade at WL from a standard to a woodview. I am not much to care about the view but it was a really nice surprise. We had a nice quiet balcony are which our daughters loved to hang out on. I'm not sure why we got it, but we did have it marked in our reservation...

What ride are you scared of? And everyone thinks you're ridiculous.

Splash Mountain. I never liked those kind of water rides like the log rides. It's strange because I really like roller coasters and don't mind things like the tower of terros. It must be the knowing what's going to happen at the end....

Simple Thing a Cast Member Did...

We were pin trading with one of the "kid only" CM traders when both of my daughters (2.5 yo and 6 at the time) pointed to the same winnie the poo pin. I said to my older one to maybe see if there was another one she would trade for as her younger sister loved winnie the pooh. She quite nicely...

    Kids Nite Out

I used them in October 2008 for our two kids (aged 4 and 7 at the time). We loved the service and for the girls is was one of the highlights of their trip. We're heading back in October and will be using them again.

The *Official* February 2011 Thread - Happy Dance Time...The Park Hours Are Out!

Hello. Yes, I am heading out this week. :cool1: I signed up to run the Disney Princess Half Marathon on the 27th and purchased a 3 day park hopper ticket. I'm doing my planning last minute because, well, this year has been a little crazy. It is my first solo trip and since I have no kids to...

    Princess Marathon Roads & Crowds

Will the crowds be horrible that weekend? I have never been there in February but have heard it gets pretty crazy. I am running the half and it will be my first solo trip. :woohoo: I just want to maximize my "alone" time there and need to know how much time I need to plan.

Little things not to miss at any park

I love the talking trash can. We saw him outside the store across to Toy Story ride in Magic Kingdom. My daughter was terrified of him but I thought he was great. He likes to pose for pictures. ;)

    Just Back - No Crowds!

We went from 10/19 - 10/25 and thought it was pretty quiet, too. By the afternoon, they were busier but still very manageable. I think the longest we waited for anything was 30 minutes and that was to see the princesses in MK on Friday. Other than that, maybe 20-25 minutes in stand-by even for...

Is Jellyrolls busy now that Pleasure Island closed?

Hey everyone. I'm leaving today  but I have a question. We got a sitter for next Thursday night and was planning to go to Jellyrolls for a couple of hours. Has anyone noticed its has really packed lately now that the whole Pleasure Island is gone? I'm figuring we'd get there by 8 or...
