Love these stories! Last October we had lunch in Norway - DS6 enjoyed it but was not super excited. Until Ariel came by and kept calling him "Sailor". He ate it up! When she left, she kissed him on the cheek leaving a lipstick mark. He had a goofy grin for hours.

My son rode for the first time when he was 4. (He's big for his age.) I was terrified that he'd be scared. Granted there was some fear but that's all part of the ride. The funny part is the picture taken during the ride shows my son with his hands up and myself, DH, & my father all watching him...

Kids learn from experience. All these "nicer" restaurants have kid's menus for a reason.

Strange! We've dined there several times and have never gotten the impression of it being loud. It's not especially quiet (open kitchen) but I wouldn't call it a "marching band." We love CG!

All I can say is that I'm totally with you. It drives me nuts. My MIL has allowed my DS6 to "take part" in her picky eating issues but that stuff doesn't fly at my house. He's really a very good eater but I hate it when he tries to throw an "it's got mushrooms in it" fit one day but is fine...
