    Christmas New Years ??

We have been during this time twice and, of course, it is quite crowded but we stayed onsite and with the unlimited express the crowds were manageable. This is such a great time to go to the parks. The decorations are beautiful and the Macy's parade is so much fun.

    Universal/IoA secrets

There are unicorn hoofprints in the walkway around The Flying Unicorn. Notice the names on the windows in the New York section of US. For example one says Genco Olive Oil Co. like in the Godfather. This is a fun thread - makes me want to go back to USF right now!

    Where are you?

This is really a fun idea. There are only two of us in MS.

    Dear damo:

I want to learn how to post pictures, too. I know somebody posted recently about this, but I tried what they said and it didn't work for me. My pictures are uploaded on Snapfish and of course they are on my computer but I can't figure out how to post them here. I don't want them to post in...

    Travel times from RPR

The actual ride takes maybe 5 - 10 minutes. I've never timed it but it doesn't seem like it was more than 5 or 10 minutes. But, the boat is not always at the dock so there can be a wait for it to get there and sometimes they wait a little while before they leave the dock in case others are...

Is there any reasonably inexpensive food in UNI?

During Christmas week they opened at 8:00 a.m. They have other breakfast things too, and good coffee. Nan

Is there any reasonably inexpensive food in UNI?

Pastamore in City Walk has a very reasonable breakfast option of a side of scrambled eggs and a side of bacon or sausage for $1.99 each. We ate breakfast there each day and really weren't hungry for a big lunch. Have fun!

can you ride the boat to the hotels if you are not staying there?

The boat driver checked our room keys several times during Christmas week but it may have been due to the crowds. The boat to RPR was full or nearly full almost everytime we got on it.

    Satellite images of Universal

I have enjoyed looking at the Google satellite map of the Universal area. I think it would help newcomers get the idea of the layout of the parks and hotels. We used it to pick which tower to stay in at RPR. I just went to Google and clicked on "maps" and "satellite" and put in Universal...

    Which park first, and why?

One thing that might affect your choice is the weather. Universal Studios is much easier to do in rainy weather because almost everything is indoors. In the summer there is often a shower each afternoon so you might do IOA in the morning and US in the afternoon of each day. The parks are...

Second trip to Universal . . . and probably the last.

I just don't understand why people take the time to write these Universal bashing posts here on the Universal boards. What are they trying to do? :confused3 It doesn't help people who are planning trips. It's not that I can't deal with people pointing out negatives about Universal but what is...

    Dec 16-22 trip report

We were at RPR the week of Christmas and had three rooms on the 5th floor in tower 1. The rooms could not have been cleaner and the bedspreads, etc. were in perfect condition. Just to reassure people who may have reservations to stay at RPR - we had a great time and our rooms were great.

    HRH Kids Suite

We had a Kid's suite a few years ago and it really was worth it for us. The suite is HUGE with a seperate bedroom for the children with their own TV, etc. There are two bathrooms but only one has a toilet (never really understood that). The other room has a king sized bed and a large seating...

    Getting to MCO from HRH

Yes, a taxi will hold 4 people. There were four of us and the youngest was 18. Three of us sat on the back seat and my husband sat in the front. We had lots of luggage, too, and that wasn't a problem.

    Getting to MCO from HRH

We were at Universal/RPR the week of Christmas and used taxi's exclusively with great success. I felt taxi's were easier than other services because you didn't have to schedule them ahead of time. Just walk to the valet area and tell them you need a taxi and there it is. We did call down...

OMG! Woman assaulted in "The Mummy" at US/IOA!

Just an example of monitoring of Mummy queue area: My elderly father fell and even before everyone in our group knew he had fallen, the park medical people somehow knew and were on their way. Also, there were park employees stationed inside the queue. I just find this allegation, odd, having...

It's the ME, ME I've been to all THREE thread!!

Finally a member of the club! We love all three but if we had to rank: #1 HRH - proximity to US #2 RPR - beautiful, reasonable rates #3 PBH - unique, lovely, large rooms. All three are fabulous! Nan

    December 23 -27 trip

Hi everyone! I am suffering from "having-to-leave-Universal" depression syndrome so I thought I would tell ya'll about our trip. I didn't take notes daily or anything so I think I will just tell the highlights and random thoughts about our trip as they come to mind. My family: Me and...

    HRH Kid's Suite question

We had a Club level Kid's suite in 2003 and the couch did make out but I am not sure what has changed since the rehab at HRH. BTW, the Kid's suite was wonderful. You are going to have a great time! Nan
