    Stitch?

Hollywood Backlot, just to the right of the Monsters, Inc. ride. Its not obvious from the walkway, so you may want to ask a nearby CM if you don't see the exact spot.

Is Mickey at the PCH Grill?

Depending on crowd levels, you can possibly interact with Mickey for more than just the token photo. If he's not posing for the camera and if they aren't doing one of Stitch's dances, he's usually standing up there solo without any formal duties, though he will get pulled away if another party...

    DLH vs PPH park view

We've stayed in both. Generally I prefer PPH park view directly overlooking DCA, but park views at both hotels are nice. Never had any noise issues, but we usually stay in the parks till closing so we've never had to sleep through WOC or fireworks. In terms of the hotels themselves, I'd...

How have the crowds been so far

We were there on Monday. Busy, but not nearly as bad as expected. DL busier than CA, so don't expect to get on everything. Its still chilly overnight (by So Cal standards), so we got on a lot of rides in the early morning and enjoyed the scenery mid day. Once you hit afternoon, many of the...

    hotel / resort

We've been very pleased with the Anabella for our offsite stays. Not much pizazz for kids, but for two adults it was comfortable and convenient.

One Day at DLR for WDW Vet!

Indeed, crowds should be lighter during the week, and late July is generally a good time if you are going during the summer (away from July 4th weekend, but still removed from "last minute, end of summer" rush). Find out which park is slotted for Magic Morning (early access) on your travel...

One Day at DLR for WDW Vet!

Choice of first park partially depends on day of the week. POC, Indiana Jones, and Splash are absolute "must see" rides if coming from WDW. Small world is another one you'll likely want to see; slightly different than WDW. Fantasmic is better at DLR if you can snag a good view, but the...

Any recent reviews and pics of the Anabella Hotel?

Since there weren't any hotel deals on-property this winter, we stayed at the Anabella earlier this month. For us, it served its purpose as a clean and convenient "base". Rooms are older, but many (all?) are recently remodeled. The overall setting is very nice outside. This was our...

    Perks for PPH?

No live characters in the lobby (there's the Goofy statue though). But you can walk down to Surf's Up breakfast, stand in the hall, and get a clear view of characters in the restaurant from a safe distance (so long as there aren't too many people waiting).

How often do you visit Disneyland?

Once per year. Since 2009, it has become DW's birthday party.

Have you ever seen celebrities at DL?

Saw Kobe and his daughter late January 2008 on a Tuesday walking past Big Thunder Mtn. Had one CM hovering around. A few of us took some pictures of him (not with him), but otherwise he was left alone.

What's your favorite little detail in Cars Land?

Maybe not a "small" detail, but when you look to the sky while in the RSR queue, you literally cannot see anything else other than the canyon (maybe TOT, but only if looking that direction). They did a great job of creating a complete immersion experience outdoors; obviously its easy to immerse...

    Tipping around DLR

At Surf's Up Breakfast (PPH), gratuity was included in the bill. I haven't been to enough other sit-down places at DLR recently to comment where else this may be true.

Have wait times gone down for RSR at all?

This^^ We too have ended up in the same car while using the SR line.

RSR--Recent Wait times for Single Rider Line?

Went on 1/13 and 1/14... Half hour for SR line middle of the afternoon on Sunday, but was about 15 minutes later in the day. About 10-15 minutes mid-day on Monday. All times the regular line was posted at 60+ minutes.

Just Got Back Home...Some Random Points

I should add to check with the CM's up front about the estimated length and don't just go charging onto the line, because you can't see the entire queue, which descends into the canyon. We first went by the ride early on a Sunday evening but they estimated the SR line at 30mins, so we left and...

    Character lines

Yes indeed. As mentioned in some other threads, one reason for this is most of the locals visit several times per year, or at worst, annually. If we don't get to meet a character "this time" our "next time" often isn't too far away! At WDW, your "next time" might not come for years, as trips...

First Time to Disneyland but many trips to Disney World

Indeed, the main point was the overall vibe/reaction is different, as I certainly can't prove any differences in ride functionality. It took me a few trips to DLR to finally "get it", but now that DLR is "our" park, DLR, we really appreciate just being there and approach our days with less...

First Time to Disneyland but many trips to Disney World

I think DLR can sputter because the demands of the guests are different and perhaps less demanding. I don't mean that in a bad way, its just much different vibe on the west coast. Unlike many WDW guests who may spend a five year family savings on a mega-blowout trip (and have demands...

    Dining which to avoid

Ate burgers at taste pilots on Sunday. Not spectacular, but for a quick meal the food is pretty decent. Its been several years since I last ate there and I can't recall the food being outstandingly good or bad. I wouldn't plan my trip around it, but I wouldn't hesitate to go back again either.
