My oldest son unexpectedly passed away in May at the age of 15. Since 2004 we have taken a yearly trip to WDW and it has always been during the school year. Some trips were missing a few days and a few trips were 10 days. I would get nervous about how school would comment on pulling the kids...

Since you are already driving I would rent a house off property. It would be really nice space for all of you. What I like too is being able for the family to eat their breakfast while I get ready. And having a washer and dryer has saved us too.

They are going to the Christmas party...

Peter Pan is one of our favorites. I would do that and Little Mermaid on both days. Seriously. Dumbo was awesome too. The new ride is beautiful.

They are only open weekends now and short hours. Not sure if they have any deals. I think a lot of them expired and the next round might be just for fright fest.

Buy a cheap travel carseat for the trip. The Frontier might not fit in an airline seat. We had a cheapo seat from Wal-Mart we used for a few years.

I am into the practical gifts. After 4 kids you know what you need and what you don't. I stick with mattress pads, extra sheets. Boring but I always appreciated that kind of stuff.

I pack 6 of us into 1 small suitcase and do laundry. If trip is 6 days I pack 3 outfits. We are flying Spirit I October and I am already planning carry on packing.
