I work at the U of A in Tucson, and can second the impact of the economy on AZ universities. There have already been major cuts, and more are coming down the pike. Translation to students: less course options, more monster-sized lecture classes, more undergrad classes taught by graduate...

I didn't mind her either. I tend to be wary of the way reality tv pegs some people as "villians." No way I'd hang out with her, but I did like some of her dresses.

Actually, good comedy has always come from pointing out excessive behavior. The problem with your argument is that Michelle's behavior isn't excessive. Her beliefs aren't militant...it's only the conservative's representation of them as militant that deserves comedic attention.

At least in the clip you posted, they are mentioned as as "angry protesters," not necessarily McCain supporters. But I agree this type of behavior is ultimately a result of the McCain campaign's negative attacks; they sowed the seeds of hate.

What happened to C. Powell in this administration was tragic. He was silenced at the very moment when his experience was most needed. Appalling that there are some (not all) conservatives who are trying to silence him again.

My new back just froze my account because "someone" with a previous last name had the same ss#. Duh...that was me! Just returned to the maiden name. And showing them the new ss card wasn't enough...I had to produce W-2 forms, pay stubs, and divorce papers. And, now I have to wait 48-72...

There's a lot of U of A students, past and present, on the team, so people around Tucson are excited as well.
