I would recomend the water and shock proof ones from Oylmpus (sorry don't know the US part numbers) Not only great for the obvious water park use, but also for using durring the afternoon showers. No worries about it being in a waterproof bag or anything. Also great for when the kids drop it...

Universal is quite a way north of DLR and San Diego is about an hour and a half drive south, so if you wait until you get your car you will drive right back past DLR to get to Universal. That siad I have no idea how you would get from DLR to Universal without a car.
