I think we are the test case. I expect that next week the annual pass queue will be enabled at the start. Disney may spin up more check-out servers. Definitely a good use case for cloud services.

Lots of good points brought up. Whether it is right for you depends on one key question: Can you plan your vacation at least 7 months in advance (11 months is better)? Another almost as important, are you willing to go to Walt Disney World at least every other year (we go AT LEAST twice a year)...

Buying direct at VGF may not be totally unreasonable. The incentives bring the price per point almost within reach of resale prices, if you buy a lot of points. I expect some perks to come back when Disney needs to generate "guest demand".

Top of the World Lounge is reopening soon (may be open by now). Check for afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian. The Nomad Lounge at Animal Kingdom is one of my favorites. Sushi anyone? Splitsville at Disney Springs (yes really).
