December 2015 Car Rental Rate watch

I was able to get my 10 day rental from 12/2 - 12/12 down to $156.41. This is for a Full Size through Alamo with additional driver free. I used Costco ID 7014627 and $30 Visa Coupon AD2338FDF. I had previously gotten it down to $190 about 10 days ago so it was nice to see more savings again...

Aulani Cabanas - Which ones do you prefer?

While I have not personally rented a cabana at Aulani, I will say that the Menehune bridge play area is usually pretty loud with sounds of rushing water and kids having fun. But in the Ka Maka Grotto area near the cabanas there is the Keiki Cove Splash Zone so your little one would have a place...

    Help Aulani and aifare!!

If you are flying from the East Coast it is not impossible to get airfare for less than $700. In fact of all the times I've flown from Hawaii to NY or Hawaii to Orlando, I've never paid more than $780. With Hawaiian Airlines now having nonstop flights to NYC, there are more options available...

The I Love BWV (yes, Hallways and Clown Pool too!) Thread

Any good room request suggestions for a 2BR Boardwalk view? We don't need to be close to the elevator or anything like that. September will be my first time staying in a Boardwalk view!!! And does anyone have any pictures of the view from your Boardwalk view rooms? Thanks for the help!

Grand Californian Waitlist Experiences..do you get the room?

I waitlisted for the Grand Californian during President's Weekend in 2010. I was put on the waitlist for either a studio or 1BR in October and the 1BR came through in December. I would definitely plan to make other arrangements if it doesn't come through, but with Disneyland having so many...

Would you spend 18 points for 2 days of Aulani Access?

I can't for the life of me figure out why you would want to do this. I mean by "Aulani Access" you pretty much mean "having use of the pool at Aulani" since nearly everything else at Aulani is open to guests not staying at the resort too. I would save the points and just use the pool at the...

Going to Aulani -- Let's list places to eat

My personal favorite shave ice place is Ailana's on Kona street right at Ala Moana Center. It's a hidden gem and near a popular visitor location. I heard they opened another shop in Waikiki, but have yet to try it. If you venture into downtown/Chinatown my favorite pizza place is JJ Dolan's...

VWL Groupies...yes, we love the Lodge!!

Hi Groupies! I just made a reservation for some friends of mine to stay at the lodge in January for their son's 7th birthday. If I can't make it to the lodge myself, I'm glad I get to share it with someone else. :goodvibes

    Aulani and visitors

The beaches in Hawaii are all public use. So anyone can come over and use the beaches at Aulani. But the pool is a different story and as other have said they use a wristband system to prevent non-guests from using it.

Aulani - pay for food with cash??

I went to the character breakfast at Aulani on my birthday. Just like any other resort restaurant, it's open to the public. They even validate parking. :thumbsup2

    Advice for MNNSHP tickets

I purchased mine today as well!! MNSSHP here we come!! There are only two MNSSHP nights during my trip and I would rather go on one of the nights (rain or shine) over the other. So I just ordered to make sure we get to go on the night we want to.

Can you share your opinions on these hotels?

For me the answer changes depending on the situation. When you are going, how far in advance you are booking, what you plan to do on vacation (park heavy trip or relaxed), who is traveling, etc. You can make a case for any of the resorts depending on the situation. But I chose VWL because...

VWL Groupies...yes, we love the Lodge!!

Yeah 20 miles is close. Sometimes it's hard to convince myself to not drive over there just to get another peak at Aulani. But lately with gas at about $4.50/gal, it's been easier. I haven't been by there since January.
