Last year, my friend read in Birnbaum's that BWV permit 5 in a Studio. He called MS and booked it. He gave all the ages (none were under 5) and got the reservation. All 5 went to the check in desk and got their own keys. He had no problems the entire trip. To the best of my knowlege...
We had no problem cancelling our reservation at BCV last year and then immediately booking for the same days at BWV. Don't ask why we made the switch...:headache:
I realize that using our points to take a cruise is not the best economic way of taking a trip, but if we use up all of our allotted points, can we make up the difference using cash?
First of all Welcome Home!. Secondly, relax. We also have 225pts at BCV and love the DVC. In a few years we are probably going to add on 50pts at AKV and KT. I think that if you stick with it that you won't be disappointed. Good luck with your decision.
We own at BCV, but we have stayed at VB three times. The only thing that we don't like about VB is the "no see ums". Doesn't sound like a big minus, but those little critters can do alot of damage. To answer your second question, I believe that HHI and VB contracts end in 2042.
- and now to the OP's 2nd question-
average time of year- not peak, not slow
points per night (not including weekends)- savannah view
studio-
one bedroom-
two bedroom-
grand villa-
Any guesses?
I can only think of two-
1- get a copy of the official member guide book- just contact member services and they'll (hopefully) send you one
or
2- you have to get on the official member web page and they outline the points for you including cruises, World Passport Collection, Concierge...
We own 225pts at BCV. While the points we have cover our needs, I would like to purchase two small add-ons at AKV and VWL in order to secure the 11 month booking window.
Location! Location! Location! Did I mention location? Seriously, not only is BCV within walking distance of both EPCOT and The Studios, but it's located on The Boardwalk, which is my favorite spot in all of WDW. Also, don't forget about the pool.
I made the same mistake and didn't even realize it until one year later. I never realized it because my account was always credited as though I banked the points when I should have. Good luck!
We are one for one. On 9JAN06, we attempted to The Boardwalk Resort at Virginia Beach for the week of 8-15JUL06. We only had to wait three days to receive a confirmation. By the way, we loved it there and plan on going back.
