MLK weekend or another weekend in Jan/Feb - wwyd

I have not been to Disney World in 11 years. I have a voucher to use for flights that has to be used by the end of February. I am trying to decide between a longer trip that includes MLK weekend or a shorter trip another weekend in January/February. The trip is just to Disney World and would...

Got a Six Flags membership for the family

I have had a membership for several years, along with a couple that I had bought for my kids friends birthday presents. Mine were without the deposit. I went to cancel after the 12 months (it is closed for about 6 months here, so I figured I would start again when the park opened. But - if...

family vacation to the Boston area. Update and last minute ?s on p. 3

I haven't been in 10 years, so I will let others give you detailed advice. But I am not big on history or boats, and I loved the time spent in Boston. Just want to say you will have a great time.

I need a plan B! Sam's Club Travel is no longer selling Universal tickets.

I just bought through AAA. I already had a membership. They were close to the price listed for Sam's. But they do charge tax on top of that. I think i had read in one thread here that the Sam's prices didn't add tax. The AAA tickets have to use will call at the park. That was the only option...

    Your best corny joke/riddle

If you are an American when you go into the bathroom and an American when you come out of the bathroom, what are you while you are in the bathroom? European

Whether to do braces or not

I understand what you are saying. My daughter is missing the teeth between her front and eye teeth. The eye teeth came in right next to the front teeth, so no gap. She has a beautiful smile, but it is noticeable that something is not quite right. If she wants to move the eye teeth and have...

Anyone familiar with vacationing in Massachusetts? Boston?

Maybe I missed this, but are you driving or flying? I have spent a lot of time there in hotels without a car. If I were flying in, I would not rent a car for the entire time, just for the day trips. Loved the whale watch trips. But growing up landlocked, being on the ocean is amazing...

    Rosetta Stone users

Have you looked at Livemocha.com? I used it for a little bit many years ago. But it does seem to connect you with native speakers for help.

    Toaster oven or NuWave oven?

Have an 8 year old who loves to bake. She is gluten free, so never got an easy bake oven. I would like to get something smaller than the big oven that she can bake stuff in. It would also be used for cooking in general, as we have a really old oven in a rental house that I don't always like...

    Traveling with a Newborn

I haven't seen this said yet, but a really liked nursing tops. That can provide easier access on a plane and certain designs can provide coverage as well. I flew with my first at 4 weeks. I didn't have any problem nursing.

does anyone have the skin condition KP (Keratosis pilaris)?

Mine gets much better if I use a loofah sponge on it daily. There is also a lotion from CeraVe that makes it smoother. While it can feel a lot smoother, the red dots are still visible.

Unvaccinated kids banned from school for 25 days

My kids are unvaccinated and I have always received a notice at the beginning of the year that if there were a measles or mumps outbreak in the school, then I would have to keep my kids out of school for x number of days. I am not sure if it was exactly 25, but it was close. I have assumed that...

How do I get funds to someone fast with PayPal?

I have used the Chase Quickpay to pay babysitters and they never said anything about it, so I don't know how fast it goes on that side. Then I used it to receive money from someone at a different bank and it would take up to a week (4 business days) to have the money available in my account...

Newborn - Need help with sleep (for mom)

Here to offer encouragement. It does get better. I think every situation is different, but here is what I figured out - I exclusively nursed and co-slept (after reading about how to safely do this). It took awhile, but finally figured out I could nurse lying down, and eventually barely woke...

Airport kids checking in and security - UPDATED - no problem getting gate pass

Thanks for the answers. I have not updated my signature, they are ages 11-6 now. But even then I would not have let them go through security alone. I just didn't know if I could get a pass if they were not flying as official unaccompanied minors. If I couldn't get one, then he would have...

Airport kids checking in and security - UPDATED - no problem getting gate pass

My 3 kids will be going on an trip with their dad. He does not live here. He is on a flight getting in 1.5 hours before the flight he is scheduled to take with the kids. He asked me to check them in and try to get them through security. They are flying Frontier and will be checking a bag...

    Calling Chicago experts!

Just wanted to confirm Museum of Science and Industry over the Children's Museum. Although the Children's Museum is fun, it is not better than what is offered at other places and is probably about average as far as the size of the Museum. MSI is really cool and is my favorite. If you are...

    Interstate tolls

You will automatically get a charge to the credit card you rented the car with. There is usually a large fee ($20 or so on top of the toll). I think most use an outside company to process these charges.

    Interstate tolls

Currently only expansion of interstates (new roads or adding lanes) can be tolled. The change would allow an existing interstate that is being reconstructed to become a toll road. There is also a clause in there about tolling to manage congestion.

Tall Pooh like Women... Clothing Recommendations Needed!!!!!

I have noticed that after the first few times I wore skirts, the chaffing stopped. When I started working I began to where them often, and ditched the pantyhose after the first week. For a few days it hurt, but now it is not an issue anymore. Good luck.
