    College parents...fall semester?

The University of Illinois letter is interesting to me, inasmuch as 50% of their students live in non-university housing. They can send home the kids in the dorms but I know for a fact the kids in rental apartments are all moved in for the year and will not be leaving. Almost all of the...

Parents are your adult children living at home? Adult children are living at your parents home?

The ages used in this make it less illuminating IMO. Some 18 year olds are still in high school and of course live with their parents. Many 18-22 year olds are in college—is that counted as living with your parents? I think this type of data would more useful if they used age 22 and up.

GRAND OPENING - GRAND CLOSING (Florida)

GRAND OPENING - GRAND CLOSING (Florida)

I don’t disagree that Covid is more lethal, but do want to point out that in 1968 the population of the US was only 200 million vs. 328 million today. So presumably the Hong Kong flu would have killed almost 140,000 people if all else held equal (hope I did the math on that correctly!)

Has the pandemic changed any of your habits, hopefully for the good or perhaps for the worse?

I used to bite my nails, which I always realized was a disgusting habit, but I just couldn’t seem to break myself of it. I haven’t put my fingers in my mouth since January so I am hopeful that habit is broken for good!

Cases rising or dropping by you?

That Newsweek article was written in a very sensational way IMO. They completely skipped the fact that Florida is doing more testing. A better write up can be found in the June 6 Miami Herald: While the state has seen its biggest daily gain in six weeks the past few days, the percentage of...

    How Worried Should We Be?

Can you clarify what you mean by Florida is increasing their incidence? If you mean an increase in cases, yes and that is because Florida is doing more tests. The rate of positive tests is declining in Florida. See the Miami Herald, June 6: While the state has seen its biggest daily gain...

    How Worried Should We Be?

Aren’t they testing more? I’m not paticularly concerned with more cases overall if they are testing more overall What the positive rate is, that’s more an issue. I don’t know about Florida overall, but I watch a specific county in Northeast FL closely (at risk parent lives there) and they are...

Why was youth culture so conformist and dumbed down in the 80s and 90s?

Oh, he's very popular, Ed. The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, wasteoids, dweebies, dickheads, they all adore him. They think he's a righteous dude.

    State cuts due to Coronavirus

I am so sorry. I would recommend going to the Chicago reddit forum and finding their pinned discussion on tips for filing unemployment online. State cuts due to Coronavirus

I agree with you. The situation is insane and I don’t see how IL can ever come back from this. Pritzker seems delusional. And has anyone heard of ANY cuts being proposed to Illinois spending?????
