Best route to Fort from St Augustine

Even with the construction I think it is your best bet. Just watch your timing to avoid peak traffic

    Little ones on TSMM

My daughter was small and had trouble reaching, but I just balanced her on my leg and she started blasting away.

Can you have guests visit while staying ?

You certainly may have guests. We have family in the Orlando area that often comes to spend a day with us. As far as activities go, I don't know the specifics, but I recall when we stayed at AKL they had several activities centered around the animals throughout the day. I also love going to...

Is it really faster to drive to most of the parks?

Straight answer, yes it is faster to drive. The better question might be how much faster and is it worthwhile? In my experience driving around WDW, I don't really drive any faster than the buses, so the only real time savings comes from waiting for the bus. Assuming you aren't always...

    Fort Wilderness Campground/Cabins

The cabins are on separate loops from the campsites, so you can't really get next to each other. However, you can get an easy walk/bike/golf cart ride away. As for the easy part, book as one group and do it early and they should be able to make the appropriate notes to put the RV in a nearby loop.

2 Questions about entry/re-entry if park is at capacity.

On past trips when the park hit capacity being a passholder and staying on property did not make any difference.

Best Character Breakfast - not in the parks

Those are the exact two I would have recommended. Ohana has the great food and atmosphere, but not my first choice of characters. Cape May has the "A-List" just like Chef Mickey but I like the atmosphere better.

I have used them before and nothing was said.

which mini golf? Fantasia Gardens or the Winter one?

I have always liked WS better just for the theme. It just seems more fun to me.

    Best Character Meals

My DD always loved the Princess Breakfast but my favorite has always been Crystal Palace.

Is there ever free dining for the Campgrounds?

I do believe that when they first started the dining program they offered it free to the campground. However, that was only the one time. However, I can't say that I miss it. I can't stand the forced structure of the meal plans. Plus the extra cost per night at rack rate makes it a...

Choosing between Epcot and Animal Kingdom?

Based on your descriptions of the family, Epcot would definitely seem the way to go. There are plenty of rides at Epcot that would keep the kids entertained. I think your parent might actually find that WDW has some value even for "travel snobs". Your brother is your stumbling block and...

What do you bring to the parks? And how do you carry it?

Umbrellas or ponchos are definitely in our list of must haves. Autograph books and pens as well for the kids. We like to bring the little drink flavoring pouches as well for the water. Then we only need one bottle each and fill up with tap water and flavor it. I usually have a hip pouch...

    Seeking camera (for kids) recommendation

Waterproof and Shock proof are very hard to come by. We got my DD one of the Insignia 10MP cameras from Best Buy a few years ago (she was 7 then) and it is still going strong and she loves it. It also takes great pictures and has some fun built in features. They are still around $50-60 and I...

    Crowds next Mon-Wed

Usually is very quiet at that time. I don't think you will see a big change from the Star Tours preview.

    Please help me choose!

I agree with the many others, unless your boys have a great interest in Cinderella, I don't see why you would eat there. One other thing I noticed is Crystal Palace for Breakfast. They do a better lunch/dinner than most but breakfast is very standard. I would try for CP for dinner that night...

Anyway we'll make it Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue

<quote>1) Even driving, you will cut it close. . . . 2:45pm arrive (assuming on-time flight) . . . 3:15pm deplane and acquire luggage . . . 3:45pm acquire rental car . . . 4:40pm arrive Fort Wilderness<unquote> I think this is accurate up to rental car, but you can make the trip in 30-45...

I know this has probably been asked before

As an avid camper, although we bring our trailer, we have done Thanksgiving several times. The crowds are medium-heavy usually, but ADR's are impossible to get, plan ahead if you decide to eat outside your cabin. A relaxing day at the campground is a great way to spend the day. I would...

    T-Rex Cafe in Downtown Disney

Food is mediocre, prices are high, service is usually good, but when you get down to it, where else can you eat with dinosaurs?! We don't do it every time, but it is definitely worth a visit. Just remember to take advantage of teh atmosphere and enjoy the experience.

Only one character meal.....when and where?

Food is different than standard fare at Ohana, although I really like it better. If DS has character issues, I would think the standard characters at Chef would be a better choice. We went through a stage for a bout 2 years where DD was afraid of the characters until Tigger took some extra...
