    Hilton Head for one night?

We have stayed on HHI for one night several times either on our way to or way back from WDW. Since you live so close, you could go early and enjoy the pool/beach until your room is ready. You may want to come back and stay for a longer trip in the future.

    Any DVC'rs own Motorhome?

We have a class B MB Cruiser, Sprinter conversion. Hilton Head does let us park but it's a tight fit. Also, we had a tight fit at OKW this fall because of the building we were in. We love to travel in it because it drives more like a normal vehicle and we can park just about anywhere. The...

Driving to HHI - where to stop?

We have been driving to HHI for the last 9 years from Northern NH. We avoid I-95 at all costs and take 81 instead. It does add some mileage but we don't ever hit traffic in big cities and the drive through VA is wonderful. We never make a hotel reservation because sometimes we feel great and...

    HHI in April?

We have been to HHI for last 8 or so spring breaks in April. Weather has always been great. As someone mentioned earlier, we don't swim in the ocean but the pools are heated but refreshing. Temps. are in the 70's and 80's during the day and a bit cooler at night. Perfect.

    DW Golf Tournament

My DH's B-day will be during the Children's Miracle Network Golf Tournamnet in October. He has wanted to do this for many years but DD was in school so we didn't go. I'm hoping someone has attended and can give me some info. Are the tickets difficult to get and expensive? Is transportation...

HH - Drive Time from Rhode Island & Other ???

We live in Northern NH and drive to HHI every spring. We have driven straight through and since you are 3 hours or so south it's doable. We usually spend one night on the road. We love the resort and would love to go in the summer but it's not our home resort.

    HH vs Vero Beach

We have been at both resorts with our teenage DD. She likes HHI better than Vero because the beach is wider and has less of a drop off. HHI is very self contained but she can ride her bike to the beach house. She has met many nice kids over the 9 years we have been going for spring break. At...

Odd Question RE: HHI charging privileges

You get a final bill at the end of your stay with all of your charges on it. We haven't done the Dolphin and Kayak tours in awhile so I don't know if you can use your resort charge for that. Kids Night out and all other resort food/retail outlets take resort charge. The AmEx bill will just...

30 more days 'til our Anniversary trip and my husband broke his foot!

When my DH broke his leg, we rented a wheelchair. It was great exercise for me to push him and we could fold it up when we entered the buses. He could walk with crutches but he didn't want to do that very far but the wheelchair had a holder on it so he could attach them. We had some funny...

Coronado Springs Resort -- New Unofficial FAQ Thread -- October 2010

DD and I are taking short trip for Halloween 10/28-11/1. Using DVC points to stay at CSR. We have not stayed in a non-DVC resort for over 10 years so I'm not sure what to expect. Do the rooms have microwaves or small refridgerators? We are both excited to stay at CSR for a new pool...

Hey New Englanders!! How's the foliage?

Here in the White Mountains of NH we are at peak or a little past. This would be a great weekend because it is supposed to be sunny and in the 50/60's.

I just saw a bobcat at SSR!

DH and I were walking early one morning on the cart trails toward OKW in May and saw a short, squat cat creature. It had a short tail, pointed ears and light brown. It saw us and went into the woods. My DH talked with a Disney employee later that day on the golf course (Director of Operations...

Driving vs. Flying to HHI Resort: Trying to Decide

We drive to HHI every spring from NH. It takes 2 days but we love having our own stuff with us; bikes and toys. Garmin "Gabby" does not like that we do not take I95 but instead go through VA on I81. This route is much easier because traffic is less and not as many large cities to navigate...

    Hilton head balcony porch

Picnic table and 2 rocking chairs. I have found the rocking chairs to be a little uncomfortable for reading so one year we brought our own chairs to sit in. It just made for a crowded deck.

    No Parks

Just returned from a no kids trip with DH for 8 days. We did very little time in the parks but played golf, shopped at DTD and explored some of the other resorts. I could have stayed out of the parks completely and just relaxed but we had annual passes and thought we should use them before...

bring your own bikes to Hilton Head?

We usually bring our own bikes with us but we make sure that we hose them down if we ride on the beach. This past spring break we rode them to Coligny Plaza for a nice outing. We have not rented before but I think they might be one speed beach cruisers. We have hybrids with multiple speeds...

8 day on the cheap WDW trip??

DH and I just returned from an 8 day "no kids" trip to WDW. I don't think I would move from one resort to another; it would crowd my relaxation time to pack up and unpack again. We did not plan a thing except tee times for golf and that was only a day ahead of time. We did visit the parks but...

    Outside Bars!

We are a big fan of the bar at Coranado Springs. It has comfy chairs and a tropical setting. It is not in the middle of a park so it's quiet.

    driving from ct need opinions

My DH and I just drove to DVC Hilton Head, SC from Northern NH straight through. We left at 10:30pm Friday night and arrived at HHI Saturday around 8pm. We had a couple of longer stops one for breakfast and one where I just had to get out of the car and walk around. I was driving so I picked...

    HHI- Mike "The Pool Guy"

Mike is amazing. We met Mike about 4 years ago and he always remembers us. We were just at HHI last week for spring break and didn't see Mike early in the week. We saw him on Friday at the beach pool and he came right up to us and said he saw our van in the parking lot. What a great guy. I...
