We are going back to US/IOA after taking a break for about year. Does anyone know of any discounts on annual passes. We are planning on buying one preferred pass and a couple annual passes with black out dates. Are there any codes or places where you can get buy one year and get another...
We did a character breakfast for my DD a few years ago in January. She loved it and the food was excellent. We did the breakfast when the park first opened. The place was empty. So the characters spent a lot of time at our table. She saw Spiderman, Wolverine, Cat in the hat, and Thing I &...
We went the last week of May of last year which happened to be a "Wonderful week". IMO the crowds were fairly heavy. I wouldn't say that these weeks mean a light crowd.
We did our first stay at VB in May of this year. We really enjoyed it, and we are planning to go back next year. The hotel is fairly isolated from shopping and restaurants, but the beach was very private which was great. If you like non-crowded Atlantic beaches, you should like VB.
I don't remember exactly how much the cake cost, but I am thinking $15- $20 at that time. It has been 1 1/2 years ago, and I can't remember exactly. You do get to take the cake home with you. We ate it back in the room that night which was nice. There are plenty of desserts and cakes at the...
We made our ressies over the phone for the Shamu dinner. When we made the ressies on the phone, we ordered the cake at the same time. It wasn't a Shamu cake in 2006 when we did this, but you might be able to get one now. Call and talk to them about what you want to do. We all had a good...
We did my DD 5th birthday at SW. We did the dine with Shamu for the special occasion. It was awesome. We had a birthday cake delivered to our table. You can order the cake when you make the dine with Shamu reservations. Everyone sang happy birthday to her, and Shamu even waved his tail...
We love Universal and try to stay on property when we go. We also love Disney and try to stay on Property when we go there. I asked my 6 year old DD which one she thought was a better choice. She has been to Universal and Disney numerous times and is very familiar with all the parks, but she...
IMHO, I like RPH much better than Poly. It is an easy walk to the parks, and if you are lucky enough to get an IOA view it is much better than the Magic Kingdom view at Poly. You can actually hear the rides going and screams from the riders. RPH is one big hotel, not separate long houses...
I am a software engineer for a larger trucking company. DW is a SAHM that takes care of our DD and spends her spare time designing and making clothes. We spend most of our time planning for out next vacation.
We just bought into SSR this year and have questions about banked points. We banked 96 points and used them to make a ressie at SSR in March 2008 at 11 months out. We are going to try to get a different ressie for another DVC resort in March at the 7 month window. I was thinking about doing a...
We always drive to Florida from western Arkansas. We have stayed at three different spots. On our last trip we stayed at a brand new Quality Inn in Chipley, FL using points. This is a new hotel that is very nice. I would highly recommend it.
We have stayed at a Quality Inn in...
We just got back from our first stay in a studio at SSR. This resort is nicer than any moderate resort we have stayed at. The studio rooms are much nicer and bigger than any moderate rooms. The food at the Artist Palette was awesome. DD6 loved the main pool area at this resort.
We stayed...
According to mousesavers the room sizes are bigger at CBR over the other moderate resorts. Here are the room sizes quoted on mousesavers.
All Value resorts - 260 Sqft
Moderate resorts except CBR - 314 Sqft
CBR - 340 Sqft
The extra room at CBR is another plus for CBR, but whether you...
I have stayed POFQ and CBR. I would upgrade to CBR no question. The CBR rooms are going to be much bigger than PO or Pop. I like the spread out resort you get at CBR. We can take a walk or lay on the beach with out being around other people. CBR has to be one of our families favorite...
We average about 3 times a year. We have gone as many as five times. We drive from Arkansas which is about 1100 miles one way. It takes 1.5 days for us to drive there, but we can usually get a free hotel room on the way down and back using credit card points. We stay Sun - Fri at DVC to...
Thanks for the trip report. We just got back from our first trip to VB over Memorial Day and had a great time. I think we will give shutters a try next time.
We just got back from our first DVC trip. We spent 3 nights at SSR and 2 nights at VB. I have already posted a report on SSR. This is a report about our VB experiences. There are 3 of us (me, DW, and DD age 6).
Day1:
We left Disney on Wednesday May 30th heading to VB. We decided to...
We just got back from our first ever DVC trip to our home resort SSR. We stayed in Congress Park which had a DTD view and convenient bus service. We didnt ride the buses all the time since we had a car, but we didnt have to stand when we did ride the buses. I thought the bus service at SSR...
