    Favorite DVC Resort

I've stayed at both and we vastly prefer Jambo just because of the food services at Jambo vs Kidani, but we typically stay in studios. We had a car and a 2-bedroom at Kidani in 2022 and we were perfectly happy, but in a studio give me Jambo 10 out of 10 times.

    Favorite DVC Resort

#1 Boardwalk is favorite - the atmosphere of the Boardwalk itself, location to Epcot for Food and Wine festival, and Jellyrolls! 2nd is probably Poly cause I just like the vibe and easy access to both MK and Epcot (via walk to TTC). Walking around the resort feels the least like I'm at Disney...

    Pemba Savannah

Pemba is only disappointing if you feel a lack of giraffes will make it a disappointment. It's the only Savannah with Okapi, and our daughter loved Okapi when she was little so it was a great treat when we recently had a room on Pemba. However, if you want giraffes, be sure to request the main...

Probability of BCV or BWV February 2025 and SSR 1 bedroom Question

I'm going to agree with the more recent posts. Presidents week is very popular, and it's also the Princess 1/2 marathon week as well. I think you'll find it difficult to get 3-4 nights at Boardwalk even in a 1-bedroom. (Which are a lot easier than the studios.) Not sure why but Boardwalks been...

Buy a small contract or OTUP?

Some rental places will also do transfers as well. You are only allowed one transfer per use year per membership, but I've rented out points this way through The DVC store/Timeshare store a few times. You can go to their website and its under point rentals as "Member to Member Transfers" I...

Buy a small contract or OTUP?

Rent/transfer points instead of getting OTUP. They're about the same price and you can get them at the resort you want to stay at so you can use them before 7 months.

Buy a small contract or OTUP?

two different UY means two different accounts, so yes you can buy 24 OTU points for each account. However, you cannot combine those OTUP on the same reservation or even transfer them between accounts, so as long as you are using them on two separate bookings, you should be perfectly fine.

Buy a small contract or OTUP?

if your buying OTUP every year you are certainly better off buying a contract. Those points are costing you $20 a year versus buying a small SSR contract (Since if you are using OTUP you don't even need home resort advantage) and the points will only cost you like $12 a point with the buy-in...

    Cash stay and DVC stay

That's a hard no. It's basically like you are booked at two different hotels. Unfortunately they cannot be combined.

I can't be the only one! (December use year)

Nope I have December UY and three contracts in the one account and never had a problem booking, even in January.

Risk of booking at the end of your use year

So the "risk" of booking at the end of your use year is that even if you have to cancel your trip more than 30 days before your trip, you do not have the opportunity to bank the points for a cancelled trip. If you think it unlikely you cancel your trip, then the risk is pretty minimal. Plenty of...

    Talk Me Out of Boardwalk

The resort "Closes" Jan 31, 2042, so yes the last year we get points will be 2041. No one yet knows how they will handle that transition. (For instance, if you December UY and get points December 1st 2041, will they really make you have to use your points in two months time or borrow them to...

    Talk Me Out of Boardwalk

Would somewhat disagree. At 11 months - maybe for standard and BW views, but if you just want a regular pool/garden view at 11 months it shouldn't be too hard. That said, the 2-bedroom situation at BW is not great with all the studios, and often 2-bedrooms will be gone very quickly, so if you...

    Talk Me Out of Boardwalk

Because if you don't care about the pool BWV is the superior resort. (Sorry BCV fans.)

    Purchasing strategy

My feeling is if you are mostly travelling to Florida, with only an occasional stay at DLR, I would go with the direct contract in Florida. Suggest a minimum point contract for benefits (150 points) or maybe slightly more if it covers it, and buy any more points you want through resale to save...

    VDH Unit and Sales Tracker

Few, that is an exhaustive survey. I wonder what Disney thinks about these sales rates. I can't image they are thrilled, I'm sure they were expecting it to sell faster for longer. On the other hand, it will probably look good compared to the Cabin sales rate in six months!

    Purchasing FW Cabins DVC

    1) I have no interest in Fort Wilderness Stays EVER. I bought DVC to upgrade my stays, not stay at a campground. 2) Maintenance Fees are too high to use points to stay anywhere else. 3) Resale restrictions will make this resort value very low on resale market - think Vero Beach low. Basically I...

Relative to "walking", which of the following best describes your reservation activity?

I don't like it as a practice, but have done it for the Boardwalk. We bought a small 75 point contract to use every year for 5-6 nights in the fall, and then they shifted the point charts to make that season more expensive, leaving us to be able to barely book 4 nights in a garden/pool view...

    Talk Me Out of Boardwalk

I'm not going to talk you out of it, we bought a small contract there about 7 years ago and I only wish instead of 75points I bought 100 because they shifted the points per night in the fall so we can't stay as many nights as we had planned. What you have to be is OK with what you are...

Are VB stays eligible for Moonlight Magic?

Vero is eligible, Hilton Head is not. (That would be quite a drive though!)
