How scary for kids is the new POTC?

Thanks for the advice everyone! Yes - I thought I had heard that they changed more. :) But since my middle is a scaredy-cat, we haven't been on POTC in a long time! It hasn't been a priority for the rest of us compared to the other things she didn't like to go on, so we've been skipping it.

How scary for kids is the new POTC?

I can't seem to find this answer from searching, though I feel like it has probably been discussed, so I apologize! I have a 4yo who is not too easily scared and an 8yo who is pretty easily scared/startled (plus a 10yo that I'm not conceded about with this ride at all). How scary would you say...

Anyone having trouble getting into my disney experience

Yes, this! Everything moved to some random account I had created years ago rather than my normal primary account. They can fix it for you on the phone quickly. The person I spoke to said she's been fielding calls about this all week.

    Best plan without SDMT FP+?

Thanks for the advice, everyone. I love the DIS, where I can ask questions like this and get thought out answers instead of sweet blank stares from my traveling party. :) I guess the issue is whether to waste the first 20-30 precious minutes waiting for 7DMT right at rope drop or go right to...

    Magic Kingdom...things we haven't done.

I was unpleasantly surprised by how fast Astro Orbiter goes. It messed with my stomach and I hope never to go again. ;) Hopefully your DS will like BTMR this trip. It's a good "gateway" roller coaster! It's less jerky than Barnstormer. When my ODS was 4, he was so-so about Barnstormer but...

    Best plan without SDMT FP+?

Looks pretty certain we won't get SDMT FP+. We (party of 7) will have only one day in MK (maybe hopping there another evening for fireworks, but not counting on it). It's a low crowd day, but the party closes the park for us at 7. We will be there at rope drop, and probably stay through until...

Thoughts for rope drop/child swap with slow-moving stroller?

Yes, Soarin' is a pain with child swap due to the stroller rule. But Living with the Land is right there, which is a fun ride for littles. So, we usually take the baby/small child on that ride twice while the adults do Soarin. Or you can do the Land once and then stop for a little snack in...

Nov Trip..How much harder can this get?

I'm feeling fatigued, too, as the planner for our group of 7 (my immediate family + my parents). This is our first FP+ trip. I have always planned our trips and since we are early-morning people, touring used to be a breeze with rope drop + fast passes. So no one (including me - LOL!) is used...

    Children riding rides?

I agree that it depends on what the kids likes/is afraid of, and also that it's a good idea to "ramp up". If she hasn't been on a roller coaster before, don't start with Space Mt where it's dark and you can't hold her hand. But if she loves BTMR and doesn't have fears of the dark, I wouldn't...

    Park hopping tour plans.

In some ways, I think FP+ makes this easier. On a couple days we're planning to hit one park at rope drop (or AM EMH) and then leave that park when the lines start to pick up, but have our 3 FP+ scheduled for late afternoon/evening at the other park. We'll go back to the resort/pool in the...

My FP+ Window opened last night

I'm glad it worked well for you! I will be trying to book FP+ for my first time in less than 2 weeks and hoping it goes as smoothly.

    Supportive flip flops?

I love oofos...so soft and supportive!

Plastic ticket + linked ticket: please double-check me!

I have a non-hopping non-expiring ticket that has 6 days left that is linked to my magic band. But I also have a 1-day park-hopper ticket (that was a complimentary pass). I'm going for a 4-day trip and would like to hop one day. Can I just use that plastic park-hopper ticket the day I want...

    Running a marathon undertrained/injured

Well, I'm not happy about it, but I'm deferring. It was definitely better this week than last, which is good, but my 8 miles were uncomfortable enough that I know shouldn't start building on that. I think I'll see if I can transfer my number and then regroup and try a marathon again either...

How do you gain weight? How did you learn to tolerate food you dislike?

That sounds really tough! Have you tried Larabars before? They are natural and have decent fat and protein. I think the choc PB kind (my fave!) is 12g fat and 8g protein. They have a bunch of flavors - chocolate types and fruit types. They're not very big for the number of calories, so I like...

    Running a marathon undertrained/injured

Thanks, everyone. I really appreciate everyone's perspectives. I am leaning toward deferring (or at least dropping to the 10K), and will decide for sure after running this Saturday. Turns out the deadline is September 7 to do so, so I don't have much time anyways.

    Running a marathon undertrained/injured

This is all very helpful for me to think about. Thank you all for sharing your experiences! I think trying a run-walk this weekend and seeing how far that gets me without discomfort would be a great idea! Why didn't I think of that? :) I even did my first two HMs run-walk. Replies here are...

    Running a marathon undertrained/injured

Thanks for the replies! I saw an orthopedist 2.5 weeks ago and he said it's OK to run on it, and at the time supported me still building up to the marathon, but he also thought I'd be better faster. I know I should see him again...just hate to pay for another appointment with my rotten...

    Oofos "recovery" sandals

I *love* mine, too. I previously thought the spa-style flip-flops I had were comfortable, but they are nothing compared to the oofos. I have noticed that my legs feel better after a long run if I wear them around the house rather than going barefoot like I used to. If I was going to be doing a...
