*OFFICIAL* July 2010 Thread! It’s Hot. It’s Crowded. AND WE LOVE IT!

After going to WDW three times in July, that forecast is what you're going to get. It is virtually the same every year and day, unless there happens to be a frontal storm, which will make the precipitation chance around 100%. It's just a regular thing.

    Driving to another resort?

Yeah, I wasn't sure if the parking pass from another resort kinda gave you a "free pass" to go to another resort or not. I really didn't want to monkey around with using buses, but didn't want to pull up to the gate and get hassled about going there.

    Driving to another resort?

Alright, so we aren't going to swim there. Not especially on topic as neither reply had anything to do with driving to another resort....

    Driving to another resort?

We have friends that will be staying at POR the same time we are at WL. We would like to visit them and maybe let the kids swim together. Can a person drive to another resort without any problems at Security? What do I tell them, just that we are visiting a guest? I really appreciate the...

For 2,000+ mile round-trip drivers only!

Check out the GPS Drive app from MotionX for the iPhone. It works great and gives great directions. You have to buy a "subscription" to get the live voice directions, like a Garmin gives you, but is much less expensive. I think it works great. I got a little dashboard holder for my iPhone...

*OFFICIAL* July 2010 Thread! It’s Hot. It’s Crowded. AND WE LOVE IT!

Yes, it is a great problem. I love planning plus, as previously mentioned, I haven't rode any of the "big" rides in 4 years because I always tried to make sure she (now they) were having the best time, and didn't really worry about me, since I'd rode them all before a quadrillion times. But...

*OFFICIAL* July 2010 Thread! It’s Hot. It’s Crowded. AND WE LOVE IT!

Alright, so now a HUGE dilemma with only about 30 days left to our trip! Last night, we measured our oldest dd5, who is small for her age. Anyhow, she is now 39.5" bare foot, so I know we can "shoe up" to 40", meaning some of the bigger rides are a possibility. ACK! I haven't rode nor...

For 2,000+ mile round-trip drivers only!

We've gone twice now from Indiana (17 hours) with our children, last time they were 4 and 1.5. It went really awesome. I would strongly suggest driving at night as much as possible - sleeping kids are the best kind. This year, we are taking our 2 plus their 6 year old cousin. I don't expect...

*OFFICIAL* July 2010 Thread! It’s Hot. It’s Crowded. AND WE LOVE IT!

Okay, yeah, great idea EXCEPT - unless you just proactively change your shoes at lunch time, which is generally before a rain, it will never work. It comes down so fast most times that your shoes would be soaked before you get the backpack off your shoulders.

Not sure if I mentioned this before - but our dates are the same, but we are now booked into the WL. Got some sort of deal that our TA found that included a $750 gift card. Which you pay for a good portion of, but still netted out about $100 less.

The *NEW* SWAN & DOLPHIN RESORT Thread ~ April 2009 ~ Please read Post #1!

The july teacher rate I had, plus tax, plus parking, plus resort fees would have totaled roughly $1330 for our 7 days. Our TA, with the new July discounts they just rolled out, booked us room only at WL for $1229. It was tough, because we actually could've gone POFQ for just over $1000. But...

*OFFICIAL* July 2010 Thread! It’s Hot. It’s Crowded. AND WE LOVE IT!

My planning gets to begin anew! OK, not exactly, but with the extension of the discounts, we ditched the Dolphin and rebooked at WL for about $100 for the trip, even with our Teacher's Rate at Dolphin. I was a little conflicted, since we could have saved nearly $300-350 by moving to one of our...

The *NEW* SWAN & DOLPHIN RESORT Thread ~ April 2009 ~ Please read Post #1!

It was more of a symbolic "leaving here to go to the WL resort thread". Still hope to get to S/D someday!

The *NEW* SWAN & DOLPHIN RESORT Thread ~ April 2009 ~ Please read Post #1!

Reluctantly, I am leaving this thread. Recent July deals made a stay at WL cheaper than my Teacher rate at the Dolphin. Just couldn't pass up the WL. Maybe next time, S/D!

    Lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table

Sheesh! There goes my secret. Now everyone will stop wanting to waste their money on a mediocre breakfast to eat great food at lunch with the princesses! The dinner menu, in fact, is even better, but no princesses. My dw is very picky yet loved the pie. I had the salmon, equally good. The domo...

*OFFICIAL* July 2010 Thread! It’s Hot. It’s Crowded. AND WE LOVE IT!

got my third ADR - HDDR, july 27th, Cat. 1 seating, 7:15 PM. I cannot wait. Our oldest daughter, who tells us daily she wants to 'be on Broadway", cannot get enough of this show. And I'd be lying if I said i didn't love the food (and lest we forget, the personal pitcher of Bud light!).

One down, several to go. 7/25 - Cinderellas Royal Table - 12:00 PM Since we're S/D, we have to make our ADRs day by day. Blah.

No, I believe that's another disadvantage of the S/D. But Disney still reserves ADR space for the "true" 180 day mark.
