Elf on the Shelf - slightly annoyed

Add me to the mean mum list. No elf for you. I just told DD that just like St. Nicholas, Christmas angel, etc. Not every house hold celebrates all the Santa traditions. (thank you Epcot for pointing them all out and her getting that we just don't do some things)

Defiantly seeking attention. Release birth announcement, wait a week to release name, give kid crazy name. Oh and we call him Quincy because that's been his name since finding out she was pregnant. PS... click on our youtube link to find out what we call him...because you know we need money, now...

How do you handle the Holidays when...

Lots of people are making good points. What stuck out for me is - pick any day and we'll do the "family Christmas" than. Maybe the family Christmas is the problem. Maybe its too much stockings, food, hours of gifts, etc. Maybe the kid has just had enough of everyone playing Christmas and wants...

    What's in naming a baby in 2015 Sentiment/Money

Sounds like something my mother would have tried. She wanted me to pass on my name (I'm the third) I've told her since I was a teen that it dies with me. She'll probably never forgive me for naming my kids after literary characters.

Have you ever had something stolen from your suitcase?

I always put a ring to a key chain through the zipper, more to keep it closed but also a PITA to anyone shuffling through. Still had random stuff stolen missing shirts, a curling iron and meds (over the counter Tums, Tylenol, Benadryl) think someone just saw those and figured I'd have stuffed...

Do you get along with your Brothers and Sisters ?

Yes, I have two brothers. One 10 months 14 days older (my Irish twin) and one four years younger (he's my person). We talk daily and couldn't imagine my life without them. Last Minute Wedding Gliches-got one?

Our honeymoon cruise ship was put into dry dock the day before our wedding. We were informed during the rehearsal dinner. I just passed my phone over to DH to be and said I cant deal with this right now. Turned out great in the end but I didn't know where or if we would be going on a honeymoon...

Do you visit your inlaws without your spouse?

They live local, but no I don't hang out with them on my own. We don't go to their home as they let DHs problem brother live with them and he smokes in the house. So if they want to spend time with us/kids they come to us (they are always welcome at our place). His family isn't really close and...

    Question for avid readers

I can normally tell within the first few pages if i'll finish a book, some I do finish but end up disliking (Casual Vacancy). Currently debating on JR Ward's bourbon kings. 50 pages in, so we'll see if it gets abandoned. I ready two or three books a month though.

    Strangest fundraiser you've seen

Our local swim team used to do rubber ducky races. Buy a rubber ducky (number on the bottom) first duck to the other side of the pool wins. Actually it was fun to watch. Sadly you couldn't keep the duck though.

    Cancelled Wedding

Yes had a cousin cancel. Thank god we didn't get beyond picking out fabric for dresses. She already bought her dress and rented a hall. We were just about to book airline tickets when we got the call. Her fiancé just decided he couldn't do it, so they broke up. Fast forward seven years, few...
