    Fantasy June 8th, 2013. Who's going?

We'll be sailing with you on the 8th! We are a family of four from California--me, hubby, DD15 and DD13. This will be our second Disney cruise--we did the Alaskan Cruise last summer. Enjoyed it so much that we signed on for another cruise. We had actually booked for the Mexican Riviera in...

For Those That Have Already Returned from Alaska This Year

Didn't bring winter coat and I'm glad I didn't. Dressed in layers. Used my North Face Rain Jacket over a sweatshirt all the time. If you do decide you want a heavier coat, you can buy a $20 jacket in every port! I was tempted at one point but didn't want to pack it back.

How cold is it onboard the Alaskan cruises?

We were on the June 14th cruise. I am a person who is always cold! I found the inside of the ship warm. I wore a light jacket inside and never needed anything heavier than that (even at night and in the theatres). Wore my sandals indoors. Had to dress a little warmer for on deck--polar...

    Favorite FE Gift

Got off the Alaska Cruise this past month. Favorite FE gifts has to be those from the hometowns! We got stuff from Louisiana (i.e., pralines), Las Vegas (dice, keychains), Hawaii (bags, cookies), Florida (Key Lime Juice & more), Chicago (Cubs stuff, Jelly Bellys), Cincinnati (pens, etc.). Was...

What is Cruise casual in Alaska?

I packed one dress (which I wore to Palo), one pair of nice pants with a dressy black jacket (and three different tops) and one pair of black dress sandals. My girls wore dresses two of the nights--the other times they didn't want to dress up because they were either coming or going to the Vibe...

    The Wonder to Alaska - June 14 - 21, 2011 (from start to finish - 7/17/2011)

Wonderful report! We were on the same cruise--it's fun reading about your adventures at the same time that I'm writing down ours and scrapbooking! We too loved the hot chocolate machine! If always life was so good!

    passport card question

We just got back from the Alaskan cruise. Hubby has passport, the rest of us have passport cards. We did not use any other form of identification during the trip. Getting off and on the ship required photo i.d. for each adult. We also had a tour that went into Canada--passport cards were...

    Making it to bingo?

Funny you should say that! My MIL did not like Bingo on the ship either! Not that she is a big bingo player but she does like to go to Lake Tahoe to gamble and has gambled on other cruises. It annoyed her that bingo was very casual and family-focus. For example, she was one number away...

    Alaska Excursions--post your reviews here!

On the June 14th trip we did the following: Skagway: Used Chilkoot Tours for a Train and Dog Camp Excursion. We were met at the dock by a driver of a van that seated about 25 people (20 of whom were on the Wonder). We drove up to Caribou Crossing--stopping along the way for views...

    Alaska Excursions--post your reviews here!

I did this tour on the June 14th trip. I ordered room service on the Wonder (sandwiches and fruit), put the food in plastic baggies that I had brought and then we had lunch on the tour! I have one DD who wanted bagels so I also picked up bagels and cream cheese from the buffet. I always...

    Alaska WOW June 14th

We were on the same cruise. Weather was fantastic. Cast members kept commenting how nice it was and that the week before was miserable! We had a veranda room but spent most of the day out on Deck 10 enjoying the view at Tracys Arm. There was a BBQ at the buffet so it was just easier...

June 14, 2011 - Father's Day on the Wonder in ALASKA!

We made it home today--our tale is not so exciting as others! We drove home--stopped by Olympia, WA for more forests and hiking. Beautiful, beautiful country. This morning, we hit the Turtle Bay Museum and Sundial Bridge in Redding. Again, lots of fun. We had quite the climate...

June 14, 2011 - Father's Day on the Wonder in ALASKA!

I too am finishing up before heading up north! Have a lot of work that needs to be done but am spending the weekend packing. Bought waterproof spray, sea bands, bug spray, insect spray, over the door shoe rack, binoculars, and pop-up hamper. I've also been roaming the boards for cruising...

Struggling: Packing for kids for Alaska!?

Hey, we're on the same cruise! My kids are a bit older, 12 and 14, but based upon everyone's advise, I think we're good to go. I did buy the waterproof spray. I've used it in the past and it works wonderfully on jeans! And, NurseNash, you should come by our DIS meet. It doesn't look like...

June 14, 2011 - Father's Day on the Wonder in ALASKA!

Hey DVC Mary, I know what you mean. I work for a community college in California (no longer faculty but an administator:))--things are bad in California too. Everything we do is under a microscope. I even had someone tell me that I make too much money if I can go on a cruise. So now I don't...

    Alaska Excursions--post your reviews here!

Thank you to everyone who posted their experiences! I've read reviews on other websites about some of these excursions, but I tend to trust a DIS review more than others!:cool1: In Skagway, my two daughters and I booked the dogsledding/train excursion with Chilkoot Tours. Thank you for all...

June 14, 2011 - Father's Day on the Wonder in ALASKA!

Oldest daughter is graduating from 8th grade tomorrow (I know, pretty funny that we have a ceremony celebrating this!). Hubby is cramming in as much golf as he can this weekend; I'm finishing up an accreditation report for my college this weekend so I can go on vacation! We are leaving on...

June 14, 2011 - Father's Day on the Wonder in ALASKA!

I agree with those who want the one big list for FE. I have never done it either (and it seems a bit overhelming) but I think it will be more fun with more folks!
