RotR Planning & Daily Boarding Group Discussion - *CLOSED*

After bag check, go to the right. For me this morning, I was outside the ticket booths next to the construction fence. They then did a big push to get people to move forward. I was then able to get past the ticket booths and over to the turnstiles on the right. Just don’t go to the 2 furthest...

RotR Planning & Daily Boarding Group Discussion - *CLOSED*

Thanks to all the posters on what to expect. I was able to score BG15 by staying to the right. I was able to get through smugglers, TSM, and slinky dog before heading over to join the queue around 8:30am. I am now enjoying a comfortable spot on the floor while I wait. But even with that, I...

Cabana Bay, Standard room or Poolside room??

Go for the pool view. The windows are full size ceiling to floor. It definitely makes you feel the theme of the resort when looking across the courtyard. I am going back again and paid extra for the pool view.

My 10 year old is scared to fly

Is there any chance of taking her on a short flight before the trip? Maybe a quick hop over to San Antonio as an example since you mentioned flying out of Houston.

    For Your Feet

You are not going to like my answer. But for my last Disney trip, I bought 2 pairs of the Crocs Olivia ballet flats. I actually tried these on in store and had to buy the brown ones in a smaller size, but the black ones in a larger size. I think it may depend on the specific shoe on how they fit.

Aviary at Animal Kingdom and about the river raft ride

Like others have said, there is no where to feed the birds. But another suggestions for you for AK is the Flights of Wonder show. It is all about birds. We love this show. Also, there are some birds on display right after you enter the park and also some on display on the trails around the...

Can someone explain the benefits to the pre-ordered Photopass CD?

Here are my 3 reasons for paying to pre-order: 1. I stop to take more PP pictures knowing that I already spent the money which increases the likelihood of getting really great photos. 2. I tell the photographers that I pre-ordered the CD. Sometimes they take extra photos because they know...

3 1/2 year old doesn't like loud sounds!

One other warning that I learned from a friend whose daughter has sound issues is that the bathrooms are one of the worst offenders for loud noises. With the number of stalls in some locations and the noise from the hand dryers, her daughter was melting down in the bathrooms. Just a suggestion...

Do people act like you are out of your mind?

I get this reaction from my family. Any time I start to talk about Disney, I get rolling eyes and a shaking head. But I do not care. What bothers me is the fact that when they plan trips to Florida with a visit to the parks for a day or two, that they do not ask for advice. Instead, they...

If SW shows no flights online in any category/price does that mean its sold out?

If I were flying out in 9 days and saw there were no other SW flights that day available to purchase, I would definitely get on the site and purchase the early bird check-in option for my flight if you have not done so already. This guarantees you will be ahead of anyone who is waiting for the...

    Wwyd?

I just had a thought after my other post. This is from one helicopter mom to another. There is a cool website called FlightAware that lets you enter your daughter's flight number and airline and then you can check on it in real time when it is en route. You can see when she departs, where she...

    Control freaks and DME

When you go to the DME line to get on your bus, they ask for your voucher that you get in the mail and the number of bags that you have. That is how they know how many to expect and if there is a problem with a lost bag from the airline. I am a control freak too, but this is one service that...

    Wwyd?

Southwest at Midway allowed me to go back to the gate with my daughter until she turned 18. I never had a problem. And yes, I would stay at the gate until I saw her plane leave. Just remember that they will usually only allow 1 person to go back so do not bring anyone else from the family...

    Whats the first....

Peter Pan :lovestruc It was the first MK ride for both my daughter and me since my first time at MK was as an adult. I love the music as I am flying over London and Neverland.

    Disney lost my daughter's lovey!

My daughter is 19 now, and I still get teary over her lost blanket from when she was a toddler. I am so glad that your story had a happy ending.

HELP...we leave today and I am sick

Another tip if you are flying today is to invest in earplugs for the flight. With a cold and congestion, that popping in your ears with the change in pressure can be very painful. There is a specific brand called EarPlanes that are recommended. This was the best cold tip for flying that I...

    Candy Around the World

My DD and I did this on our last trip and will do it again. There are just 2 things to keep in mind: (1) Plan this for an evening at Epcot, the heat will melt your chocolates faster than you can eat them, and (2) Even the individual pieces of candy add up quickly. I spent more than I had...

Need to make decision today: Stay with CSR or switch to WL

I loved CSR when I stayed there in August, but I would jump on WL for just a $50 difference. I never would have found CSR in the first place if I had not decided to try something new last year. And I can not wait to try WL one day. It looks like a great resort.

    So we made our decision

This was me last summer. You just have to replace "son" with "daughter", "PreK" with "College", and "Teacher" with "Entire Family". A parent's job is never done.

How far do you think you walk at Disney

I wore a pedometer on my last trip and logged 70 miles in 10 days. It was actually the healthiest that I have felt in a while since I have an office job that has me sitting all day. I actually told my doctor that I think she should write me a medical note that I need this trip every year for...
